Golfer Reviews
A good play
Always enjoy the challenge of this course. And this year the course is in the best shape I have seen it in years.
Great Course
Had a fantastic time playing this course. Pin placement were difficult which made it a challenge, greens were fast enough and pace of play was great.
Drove 350 yds on par 5 12th by cutting the corner. Led to a birdie. And almost had my 1st hole in one at par 3 14th.
No title - just player
If you take this course out of the Immediate Toronto area you can subtract $25 from the chargie Our round was four hours and 45 minutes, which is probably standard for within that area but a number of the people were slow and could not connect with their ball.
Course didn’t allow me to play.
Paid for the time in Golfnow. Show up to the course and they already have the time booked. Wasn’t allowed to play. They told me to contact Golfnow for refund... can’t find anything about getting refunded. Told there was chat support... there is t. Tried phone bing the customer service number for Golfnow and of course it is all automated... I’m out $30for the Uber ride to the course, $60 for the round I wasn’t allowed to play and another $30 dollar for the Uber ride back.
Royal
Good course maintenance. Not up to speed with Covid for example played Richmond hill last week and all the holes have a device to lift the ball. Royal just put some noodles in the hole to prevent it from dropping. No washroom use, 2 people per card with a divider (Most courses just give every player a cart), and you are not permitted to take the cart out to your car. Maybe it was just a one off but after playing richmond hill there is no comparison... and Richmond hill is cheaper!
Slow
Fun course to play but the last two times have been extremely slow, for everyone. It seems like there are waits at every hole.
Great Value For Money
Twilight tee times for $50 are a great deal in the city. Greens are at a great pace relative to other courses in this price range, and the sand traps, and hazards make this challenging course.
Pace has been an issue sometimes, but I dont think its any better/worse than other public couses in Southern Ontario. Maybe some better enforcement of pace could be helpful.
With covid19, the lack of air traffic is nice, but I can see how this can be unattractive for some.
Will definitely be back to this course.
This course is a challenge to play
The course was in good shape given today’s restrictions. Greens were consistent and most of the green-side bunkers were raked.. Pace of play was good and well spaced. Only complaint, minor as it is, was the foam inserts in the cups were above the hole on a lot of holes. Will play again.
Challenging But Playable
course was in great conditions from tee boxes, fairways. rough an especially greens. Sand traps are unplayable due to Covid and lack of racks but the same everywhere
Great Course
Tucked in close to the Toronto International airport, this is a really lovely course with lots of trees and water. The staff are super friendly / helpful.
Covid golf
Too cheap to install the ball lifter upper in the cups - ugly pool noodles instead level with green, you have no idea if your ball was in or not cause it hits the noodle and pops out on the lip.
No beer cart service
No pop or ice
No garbage cans at any hole
No ball washers at any hole
$100+ tax for what should be a $60 round
Weird Foam
Beautiful day out...condition was good...
Greens were top dressed, so had tough time with pace.
The foam inside the cup was flushed with the green !!
It made no sense whatsoever...the ball need to at least drop in to count. The ball was rolling over and pass the edges. It even looped our a couple time !!!
Royal Woodbine
Great course. Greens are about a 10 on the stint meter. Fairways are in great condition. Rough is thick but a bit uneven. Bunkers were wet from rain over a few days. I don’t think the bunkers are very deep or lush with sand. This is not a walking course. Laying is back and forth. Up hills and the 15th is a far walk. A lot of water, segregated green, divided by water and trap. Great target golf, long drivers of the ball, put your driver away and hit hybrid off the tee. Great course to play. Inner city golf, airport very close. A lot of excuses for duffers and high handicappers, blame the noise on poor shots. Lots of hole to lose your ball if you don’t play smart golf. I bought a membership. I am a 3 handicap and really found this course challenging. Fun to play. Shot 75. Plan to go low. Played cardinal west wing today,. Feel like going low head to king city.......
