First time playing this course. Course management definitely a must. Challenging holes. Overall great course within the city and well maintained.
Not bad at all.
First time playing here, read some of the reviews left on golf now and realized a lot of the reviews here are from people expecting a refund or something. Yes, the cart path is bumpy at parts, but can’t believe that’s what people complain about. Goose poo? Saw 8 geese and no crap anywhere. Did not see a single brown spot on the fairway or greens.
Course was in great condition, started at 5pm and finished the front 9 in 1.5hrs. My only complaint is that single golfer (probably a member) cut in front of us on the 8th hole and played 3 balls! Began to hold us up, and for his sake he’s lucky he only drove one ball while we were waiting for him to tee off on a par 3. Misses the green and then chips and puts 3 balls. He did this for the remainder of the course and then joined a 4 some of woman for the 18th... which held us up even longer. Played the 18th and had to take 2 drops because it was too dark to see the ball. Easily could have finished a full 18 before dark, if he didn’t cut in front. Did not see a Marshall on the course or else I would have notified them.
Nice course though. Will try to come back earlier in the day.
Horrible Pace of Play
We booked a 3:30 tee time so that we would have 5 hours to play 18 before dark. We didn’t tee off until 3:50 because they jammed in 2 extra groups. There was no ranger to move people along. We waited 5 minutes on every tee. Had to quit after 16 holes at 8:30 as it was too dark to see. Had we teed off in time we would have gotten a complete round in.
We will not return.
Great location
RW has the best location for golf in the city. While the price may seem high you need to consider the proximity within the GTA. The course plays to all levels and long hitters will be forced to play irons on many holes as aim beats yardage here!
Greens are basic on many holes while water and fescue elevate the complexity on many holes. The 18th starts off simple but your second shot is gonna make or break the hole for you!
Can't wait to play here again.
Offered a great challenging holes
The course is a position player course with great risk reward holes. Played with three great guys from Halifax who enjoyed the challenge.
wonderful course
I am sure that Royal Woodbine is one of best on life of my golf. I have played golf 10 years.
great round. Course in excellent condition. Greens were surprisingly tough/challenging this day....
We had discount green fees so was good value.
Shot makers course
great track
Lots of doglegs so you need to position your drives to get a good angle at the green. The driver is not the best club on many holes.
Many of the greens are very challenging due to the undulations speed about average.
Overall pretty challenging but fun
???
Other than the bunkers - which need much work (were the bunker rakers fired?), course is always fun and and a treat to play.....
NOT recommended
Don’t waste your money this place is terrible. Very overpriced. The overall condition is not very good. Good for beginning of the year “April”. I do not recommend this golf course. If you are someone who enjoys a good round of golf unfortunately you will not find it here.
Course in good shape
i was able to get out for an early round, and joined two gentlemen at the end of the first hole. We finished our round in just over 3 hours and the course was in very good shape, although the sandtraps were still a little compact. Although challenging, I always enjoy this course! I had to rent a set of clubs, and they were great quality.
Great track in the middle of TO
Love this golf course. Always in great shape and pace is good. Try to play a couple of rounds here every season.
