Great course!
We played this course on a Saturday and it was VERY slow. A shame as it is a great course and tough. Played from the back tees and you had better be sharp. Good fairways and fast greens add up to a really impressive course. We paid $60 p/p with cart, which is a real steal thanks to GolfNow. My suggestion, play mid-week as the pace will surely be better. Worth the drive from Toronto.
a good course for the money
I am quite familiar with Baxter Creek having played it numerous times before and in the men's league last year. It is a good deal for what we played on your hot deals promotion . It is a bit out of the way for people living in the Oshawa/ Bowmanville area and should be a little less expensive due to this fact to attract customers coming a distance. Of course it is a little wet due to our weather this year but overall a well maintained course.
Excellent grounds keeping.
It was our first time to baxter creek. Both me and my golfing buddy thought it was the nicest course we've pleayed. All the grounds were in excellent shape, course layout is great for a Right handed slicer like myself. The course is beautiful as well. And the ninteeth hole they've added with an island green is great for deciding who buys the beer at the end of the round. Highly recommend this course and will definitely be going back.
Nice layout, challenging par threes.
Great course, my only gripe is that there isnt a single flat lie anywhere. Too many slopes and hills.
function over fashion
Baxter Creek has the layout for a great golf course but something got lost in translation. There are just to many blind shots that must be hit. A couple of holes hidden just around the corner, and a green right in front of a environmental area. Move a few trees, raise a few tees and move a couple of greens. After that you will have a true championship golf course.
This review may sound harsh, but after 35 years playing the game at a high level you see how much little change can make a big difference.
Challenging back nine at spots
Very fun course to play, and very challenging holes mixed with some easier ones
Great little course!
The course design takes advantage of all of the natural features found on the property. Ponds, marshes, trees, and the change in elevation, provide a very interesting and challenging course. The greens, with their slopes and grain, and speed in the summer, will keep all players on their toes. A very fun to play course!
Overall good course
Good course with a more challenging back nine than front due to more water. Course overall was in good shape for time of year and would recommend giving this course a try!!
Fun course that's always pristine
Having golfed Baxter Creek a dozen or so times I've always found the course to be in terrific condition. Greens are speedy and true and fairways are well maintained. The course is challenging yet fun. I would recommend this course to anyone.
I really like the course lay out and surround settings
This is a very beautiful course with a very nice club house and outside settings in the summer. You get good value for a course of this caliber.
Mixture of links course and regular.
Like playing two different courses. The front is open and forgiving. The back has tighter fairways and water bordering some of the fairways.
Nicely conditioned course with a good layout
Front 9 has a more forgiving layout. Back 9 has a few challenging holes that can bump up your scores. Greens putt fast. Nice clubhouse facility and range. 19th hole par 3 great for a game ending challenge.
This course is very scenic and challenging.
My only complaint would be some of the traps have small rocks in them but the sand plays well. Very beautiful course that I will highly recommend.
Nice, new course
Baxter Creek has a good variety of holes, including a 19th. It is easy to walk and has some very challenging holes that get your attention, along with some shorter, easier ones that keep you in the game. It can be very windy at times, but there are several tree lined holes in the back nine that offer some protection. The greens are very well maintained and can play very fast.
Great Course
This course was a great value . Love the 19 th hole
probably the toughest 3 closing holes around this area
Have only played this course twice but have fell in love with, a particular par 3 , used a 3 iron the first time we playe and used an 8 the second, love those challenges to your game. some friendly fairways on the front with a little more trees on the back 9.
