Water your course
Kind of a joke. Hitting off concrete on the fairways. Will never play again waste of 50 dollars
Course is like concrete
Fairways are like concrete. They need to water them. Lucky I didn’t break a club. I could’ve played in the Canadian tire parking lot for free. Same terrain
Greens were in great shape but the fairways were like the parking lot. Tough to hit off. Also, the carts were covered in mud which is unfortunate since it’s $20 per rider.
If you’re starting out, it’s a decent value course.
Rough shape
The course could use a lot of maintenance. Playing from the fairway is like playing off concrete. Greens are in good shape but that’s the only upside. Tee boxes were rock solid and unlevel.
Stay away
This course is rock solid. Hard to differentiate the fairway from the rough as it’s all brown and rock solid, and hasn’t been watered in months. Tee boxes are full of sand, and uneven. Expensive once you factor in the insane cart prices, in which no carts have windshields and every cart has duct tape all over the seats. This was my last time playing this course and hopefully anyone considering saves their money and plays many other local courses that deserve your hard earned dollars.
grossly mismanaged
you are better off playing off the cart path or hazard zones than the fairways, dried up and destroyed never have i seen a course in such poor condition. On the 18th hole at about 8:20 pm, marshal was practically kicking us off the course, very rude dude with a bag full of comments about us still being on the course, meanwhile there were still a group or 2 behind us. I can just imagine what he told them...
Save your money and time!
It's like playing on concrete! Fairways are so dry and hard it's like there going thru a drought.
A 4 out of 10
Second hole had last year's leaves still on the edge of the course. The tee box and greens were excellent but the fairways had no definition.
The golf round was 28.25 (good) but they were charging $30.00 for a below average car with no windshield or rain flaps on the back.If you want a cheap course, it is OK but for a good golfer, this course is below par.
Cheap rate...... Smoke & Mirrors
I haven’t played this course in years but saw SO many poor reviews I just had to see it for myself. First off. I love walking but I play with my 70 year old friend who has to ride. I paid $38 after tax and he paid $68!!! $27+tax single rider rate! Ridiculous cart fee for a cart with no windshield and duck tape on the seat. Any course charging more for single riders is ripping people off!! As for the course. It’s been well documented that the fairways are horrible. They’re dead. Seriously! We got back to the club house at 7:15pm. Had to use the washroom but club house was already closed!!! Nice job Scenic Woods. Not!
Poor condition
The course was burnt. The carts are old and in poor condition for what they charge. Wont go back for that price.
Kinda Rough
Not in very good condition. Fairways are weeds and a lot of missing grass. Several tee blocks are in poor condition. Greens are decent. Not great considering courses in the vacinity.
Bone dry
Fairways were extremely dry with very little brown grass. Hitting off the fairway was like hitting off concrete. Only positive was that the ball would roll a long way. Greens were ok as they were taken care of and watered. Better condition of the fairways would improve playing experience.
Course conditions not the best
I’ve played Scenic Woods in the past and conditions have been pretty good. However this time the fairways were not being watered and it is like playing on “concrete hay littered with weeds”. I know they are trying to preserve their water supply but playing on it was less than ideal. The greens were great (water was not an issue here) and rolled well. Hopefully they course can start watering on a normal basis and green up the fairways.
Rough Shape
The fairways were basically dead and hard as concrete. We moved along in under 4 hours which was great. Greens are overwatered and slow. Needs a lot of rain since they don't like to water the fairways.
DO NOT PLAY
Fariways were all dead grass and hard dirt, tee boxes were rock solid and course layout was horrible.
Don’t come here
Despite the quality of the grass on the fairway being equivalent to hay and every tee box a combination of unwatered grass seed and sand i was having a very good game, that was until the marshal decided that he wanted to leave work early and called us off the course an hour and a half before sundown... we had just teed off on the 17th hole. I would’ve been reasonably upset about this and had a civil conversation with him but he was so rude he must have been born on a highway because that’s where most accidents happen. After heading over to grab our balls he came back around for a second go at us and screamed that the cops were on the way because we weren’t moving fast enough which is ironic because I don’t think this guy has moved fast since about 1985. I’m not one to give unsolicited golf advice but if I could give you any it would be to stay as far from this place as possible, the greens were immaculate though.
