About
Northern Dunes Golf Club is a 18-hole championship course that tumbles across the gently rolling landscape of Bruce Peninsula. The front nine lays across natural sand dunes and while the back nine's landscape required a bit more work, it manages to seamlessly blend with the surroundings. Steve Young, the course architect, incorporated the classic elements of a traditional Scottish links layout but he also wanted the course to have a thoroughly modern feel. The result is a challenging design featuring large greens and over 50 bunkers filled with natural sand strategically placed throughout. The prevailing northwest winds provide another tricky element. Northern Dunes G.C. is ideally situated less than 10 miles from Lake Huron and Sauble Beach and is accessible from all directions.

Good value
Course was in good condition overall, one temporary green due to damage. Some fairways are sparse due to the dry conditions and sandy soil but we just played preferred lies.
I would play there again.
Poor conditions
The course is in very poor shape. Grass on the fairways is sparce, some tees have been scalped so there is no grass to hit off of. There is still a temporarily green and a couple are still recovering from a harsh winter..
There are no vegetarian choices in the restaurant.
Had Fun
It is a bit dusty and dry, but the greens were green and slower but consistent.
Like the layout except for a few holes. It is built on sand, so green grass is sometimes hard to find on some fairways.
We had fun and played in well under 4 hours.
Will definitely play here again!

Course in good shape given the very dry conditions here
Decent
Decent course for price and location. Some greens neededTLC. A few holes don’t make sense and a few are true golf holes. The right course for a fun round. Serious golfers maybe disappointed
Improving Course Conditions
After considerable winter damage to the greens, most are improving. With the dry conditions I'm sure it will be a struggle to keep damage repair on track.
Work has been ongoing in the sand traps. More needs to be done to make some playable.
Work has also been ongoing on some new and resodded tees . It appears that it has been a struggle to get the new turf growing.
