Angus Glen North Worth the Effort
I play this course a lot, perhaps every other week each season. That said, I’ve been able to par almost all of the holes at one point in time, just never all together. Most of the holes are links-style play. There are some trees, but for the most part it’s open, natural settings and the elements are always there to contend with. There are 2 drivable par 4s, a couple of beautiful par 5s and one par 3 under 140 yds you can throw your ball at, but is hard to get your ball close to. The staff are always great, but this year with Covid, golf has moved into a new format, but still something I look forward to during the week.
What a deal
Canadian championship course for 100 dollars. Cannot be beat.
Nice course worth playing again
A very hot day but due to Covid-19, no cold bottle water provided as usual. Course is well maintained but has to follow the GPS controlled power cart which limit how close one gets to the green. It is quite far away so has to walk a little under the hot sun and slow down the pace. May change the distance limit as the current one is too far away.
Somewhat Disappointd
I have played the North course before and i was surprised at how the course was in such rough shape. The fairways were okay but the Greens were in terrible shape. I am not sure if this is because of the weather or neglect. For sure the greens had not been looked after in quite some time.
Beautiful course
Everything are good, except my gps didn't work, so I can't put in my score, don't know the distance, cause there are no score card given out. There are no water in the ball washer that was on the cart.
Not as great as I thought it would be but some very beautiful holes
Nobody said anything about some greens being aerated. One of the practice greens had also been aerated. Lots of divot marks on some greens. Definitely not a course you could walk - it’s quite long. Warning: if it’s cart path only it’d be a long walk to your ball - ask when you book. Nice GPS on the cart. No cell phone charger in cart. Beverage cart came by many times. Staff very friendly. Parking lot was packed due to a presentation - I had to park about 500m (I was practically at Kennedy Rd!) from the Pro Shop. Perhaps they should have a courtesy shuttle (cart) driving people back and forth to the lot especially after your round is done. A course info booklet would be nice for first-timers as there were a couple of blind shots - if they have one I was not offered it. Lots of other courses in the area that are cheaper and just as nice to play. I’m sure I would have enjoyed playing more if it hadn’t been so windy.
Beautiful layout
Nice course , not to challenging from forward tees . Great to play on all skill levels!!
Great coarse. Fun challenges friendly staff. I recommend this course
Slow green
was a great day for golf, but there was a tournament in front us and slow everybody
Lacklustre maintenance crew
When you fork over between $125 and $200 to play Angus, the expectation should be to have a decently conditioned golf course. On Saturday, I played the North course, my preferred course at Angus. I’ve always enjoyed the layout. Beautiful, fun track with risk reward options and spectacular water holes on the back nine. But unfortunately the maintenance crew seemed to have forgotten that course architecture alone is not enough to make for a high end round in the GTA. We teed off at 740am and the first green looked like it had experienced a full day of play. Spike marks littered the greens. The other massively disappointing experience were the bunkers. Complete lack of care. All the bunkers were filled with footprints. They hadn’t been raked. Overall, wouldn’t pay to play there again without some assurance that they have the course conditioned up to a reasonable standard.
