Great layout, horrible price.
I’ve played here numerous times in the past and have never been charged $180 for a round. The range is closed which is ridiculous. The 6th hole has a huge imperfection on the upper right side of the green. If I can’t use the range or trust the consistency of the maintenance, what am I paying 180 for? Wont ever play there for that price again.
Target test
The south course is very target challenging. Condition of the course was excellent. Consistent play and decision making is required to score well here. Pricing is slightly on the higher side most likely because of course name.
Very slow pace of play
Our tee time was at 12:50 PM and couldn’t finish 18 holes. It took us 4 hrs 30 mins to play 16 holes. There was way too many ball marks on the greens which is so unfortunate that players are so ignorant.
Clark
The course itself is fine.
The Staff was either very poorly trained or just didn't care. I parked in the parking lot, walked over to the registration desk to pick up my cart. (100 metres). They wouldn't give me my cart, I had to walk back and carry my large cart bag to the cart. Then I couldn't take the cart from the cart lot, to ride to the club house to pay etc. (300-400m) so I had to walk there and back. Then I only had 3-5 mins to hit balls to warm up, as I wasn't allowed to go to the range until 5 mins before my tee time. I hit 8 balls and was told to leave. No marshals on course. Paired to two non golfers, who held up every shot, stood in front of us while we hit shots from the fairways... took 5 hours to play!
Worst golf experience every for a higher end golf course!
Avoid this place at all cost!
Rain
Despite the rain in the morning course played great
Course was in great shape
Very Challenging Need to to bring A game to score well.
I EXPECT MORE FROM ANGUS GLENN
Tuesday's round was incredibly frustrating as we clearly ran into some very bad luck. In front our group were 3 groups that would be much more comfortable @ municipal course. We immediately found ourselves 20 minutes behind schedule and waited on EVERY hole for the entire round. The golfers were waiting for the group in front to finish putting (on a Par 4) before even teeing off!! Then they would put 3-4 consecutive shots into the woods. Despite multiple requests to the Marshall to speed things up, they did not comply. Instead, the golfers spend their time looking for lost balls and taking pictures of the scenery | each other after every putt. Most notably, the greens were extremely disappointing as no one appears to have fixed any ball marks. My group fixed over 100 over the course of the day. There also seems to be a mold or disease spreading on the greens as I had experienced it earlier in the summer on The North course (in horrific and embarrassing shape). For the cachet and the money spent, this day was incredibly extremely frustrating.
Course Maintenance
Background: I bought the gift certificate for my son to celebrate his 10th birthday. My husband took him there. My husband is a scratch golfer and worked as the lead hand of greens maintenance at a golf country club for three years.
The main disappointment is on the greens maintenance. The greenside bonkers were not raked, grass was extremely wet that my son's shoes were soaked. The property is poorly maintained for a PGA hosting golf course.
The cart return was very far from the parking lot. By the time golfers finished their round, they have to drive to cart all the way back to the return spot and walked with their bags to the parking lot. It was a good ten-minutes walk after playing golf for the whole day.
There were about a dozen staff help cleaning the carts but half of them got nothing to do just playing on their phones, why can you send them to rate the bunkers?
Great course - Atrocious condition
I love this course - love doug carrick, have played several times and was always great. Fairways were in terrific shape - however almost unplayably patchy rough and truly atrocious (bumpy, patchy, heavily marked) greens made the conditions not good, at all - played on discount, and the condition just wouldnt have been worth a full price fee.
great layout though!
