Conditions we’re terrible
Paying 140 a round, I expected a lot more ... fairways were trash and the greens were not in great shape
Disappointed in the value
Great day
Course was in great shape. Only issue is golfers not fixing their divots on the greens.
Greens were in bad shape, it almost took 5 hrs to finish 18, No access to the range!
Best Course Ever!!!
By far the best course I’ve been to in my life! Conditions were pristine, and the weather was beautiful. The only downfall is that carts were not allowed on the fairways so it often took a while to walk from the cart path to my ball. Other than that, best course I’ve had to opportunity to play on.
Expect a slow round
Due to CV19, some amenities are limited; BUT the price is now $125 which is very fair for this track. It’s now good value (if a treat) to play.
The pace is slowwwww. Three reasons. Everyone takes a cart, but they are cart path only on many holes. This means mass confusion and lots of walking to/from carts. The course is far tougher than most of the golfer’s abilities; lots of 20+ handicappers making an absolute hash of it. There are lots of mini tournaments/groups; it’s corporate golf heaven. God forbid you get stuck behind the group with Bob from Treasury playing his first game. It will take 4 1/2 hours on a good day...and 6 on a bad day. This is with only 16 players an hour (every 15 minutes). Seriously. You will run into the group(s) in front. Guaranteed.
There are some burned fringes/patches; it’s not at tournament conditions. To be expected given traffic, but just play lift/drop if you land in one of the few bad spots. Other than than, the fairways and greens are the best condition of any public course. Hitting off the fairways is a dream.
Would give 5 stars except for pace. They really need Marshall’s keeping slow groups on pace and to get rid of the carts.
What happened
Club has let conditions go.. Plenty of brown /dead grass on greens and around greens.. Tons of ball marks on greens.. Not worth the $. Go to osprey valley
Course conditioning is quite poor for a course of this calibre. Everything else good but fairways and especially greens were bad. Dozens of unfixed ball marks on each green, large areas of fairways (and even greens) with close to dead grass. Pretty disappointed based on past experiences at Angus Glen.
Today
Course has let itself go.. Condition very poor compared to past seasons.. Lots of brown and greens covered in ball marks
E
Enjoyable but need some vegan choice at the half way house!
Disappointing
Played here a lot in the 2000's and loved it but it is nothing like that now. Nothing to do with COVID, it is obvious the ownership has no interest in this being a high level course like it was.
Ball marks and shoe spikes marks on green.
Unfortunately every green we putt we found fresh shoe spike marks and a lot of ball marks have not been repaired.
Good course but greens were not up to par
I have played Angus glen numerous times over the years and I keep going back because I like the layout of courses (more north than south course). but this time around was the first time I found the greens in relatively poor conditions. Compared to lower priced courses, greens were still better but had patchy areas on several areas on several greens which is not expected on a course of the caliber of Angus and for what green fees cost. I would recommend work on cleaning up and better maintenance of greens (even though I know its not easy with dry practically rainless weather. Thank you
Excellent condition
Have played this course for many years. 3 rounds in the last 10 days. Course in excellent shape, in spite of the hot weather. Pretty difficult layout. Greens in great shape. Today allowed to chip and put before round. Hopefully, range will be open soon.
