Grumpy staff
Pace of play very slow. 2 groups of Old ladies played in front of us. Totally oblivious that they held us up for 20 minutes at each hole, no one in front of them. Called clubhouse who sent out the starter who came over and yelled at us and told us to stop complaining, there was nothing he could do. Totally rude. Had to quit after 15 holes after 4.5 hours of slow play. Very wet and sloppy conditions
Terrible condition, worse customer service
The course was swamped. Not their fault. It's spring. My issue is with customer service. Bobby the starter needs to find a job in which he doesn't work with people. After playing slow on the front and coming up to the 10th tee where there were 5, FIVE, groups on the hole, (2 on hole, 3 waiting) I called the pro shop for marshall assistance. Bobby drove out from shop, looked, drove back in. We were on that box for 20 minutes so I called again. This time Bobby came out red faced and obviously mad about having to move and was asking every group "Who called again?!!!!!" I told him I did and he said I should go home offering a 9 hole rain check as there were women out in front of this cluster and he "wasn't going to do that to them". Regardless of the gender or age of players, if there is an obvious problem, it should be managed respectfully. Bobby's solution was to send me home after acting like he wanted to fight somebody. He really doesn't need to be in contact with paying customers.
Good day of golf
Course was in decent condition considering all the rain and cool temperatures. The first cut of rough needs to be trimmed. Lost a couple of balls that should have been easily found and really difficult to get any distance chopping it out. Grass trimmings in the fairways were annoying. But weather was fantastic so overall a good day.
The course we went to was too crowded. It seemed as if they overbooked. My wife and I had to tee off an hour after our scheduled start time.
carr path only
cart path only until it dries out, pace of play probably slow because of that reason. Marshall’s didn’t appear to be assisting with play on the back 9. Long grass in the rough, lost too many balls because of this.
Wet spring conditions
First time playing here and all I can say is I’ll be back when it dries out although we’ve had a lot of rain this spring id say the conditions weren’t too bad.
Lots of water over places
There were too much wet conditions wherever you go as over floating
Well worth the money
Came with a large group and played both Cobalt and Ruby. Conditions were soaked so that slowed down pace of play.
The Marshalls were helpful and friendly. The clubhouse staff as well. We had lunch at The Albatross which was a little slow but well worth the wait as the quality of food is the best I've seen at a golf course.
We were also given a discount on our Ruby green fees because we played Cobalt first, something we didn't know we were entitled to.
Slow pace
Painful 5 1/2 hour round. No marshals to move things along. Decent, fair layout, but won’t play here again on a weekend.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Granite Ridge Golf Club - Cobalt. We hope to see you again in the future.
Nice course. I'd go back
Not much in way of elevation changes lots of one's and potential trouble spots. Greens have lots of contours. Unfortunately it was very wet and conditions were challenging. That is the type of spring we are having..on e it dries up I expect course condition will. E excellent.
