Turtle Creek Golf

About
Laid across rolling countryside atop the Niagara Escarpment, Turtle Creek Golf uses the natural undulations of the landscape to its full advantage. The hilly terrain combined with the rocky outcroppings scattered throughout add to the scenic nature of the golf course. The elevation of the terrain shifts between subtle and dramatic. For the most part, the layout is wide open but there are some trees to be wary of as well as some rough areas. Water plays a prominent role on the course, coming into play on 12 of the 18 holes. Turtle Creek's idyllic charm flows from the course to the clubhouse, which incorporates a stone building from 1835.

Beginner's Course?
We were stuck with three 4 some ahead and all of them seemed picking up golf club for the first time. It took 3 hours for the front nine. Crazy slow. Marshal should strict with people like them. we had to skip a few holes to go past them and finally finished in 5 hour. had we stuck to our spot we would have never finished in 7 hours.
Staff were nice, but such beginners should go to a nine hole course or to the driving range. very frustrating.
Turtle Creek
Course in great shape, fairways are tight and challenging. One of the nicer course I’ve played, unfortunately a foursome in front of my group enjoyed spending more time looking for errant balls rather than playing
FRIDAY golf
Course was a bit more challenging than anticipated. In good shape although the Marshall needs to circle around. We had a twosome ahead who were very slow, then a three who laughed and talked constantly, also slow.
We left at the 17 tee box, we were the third group waiting, too slow at the end of a hot day.
Greens hard as rock and hacked up tee boxes
Probably a nice course 20 years ago, but greens are hard as rock and the white tee boxes were hacked up like crazy. The carts parking brake also didnt work so it went rolling away a couple times. A bunch of holes were blind shots as well which is a preference i guess but definitely not prefered imo. Overpriced for what it is, i wouldnt reccomend if youre an intermediary golfer or better. Probably half decent for beginners or last minute tee timers. Overall, a little maintenance would go a long way at this course
To top it off we didn't even see a turtle... smh
Awful design
Beautiful course in terms of atmosphere, but the course design is the most bizarre I’ve ever seen. Massive dog legs, tons of blind tee shots. Small greens, slow with plenty of breaks.
Good afternoon if golf
Nice course, challenging with water & some with 200 yards of carry. Score was ok for 2nd time out.
Designed by Looney Tunes
I read the previous reviews and took a chance regardless. The reviews weren’t inaccurate.
Pin placements. I think the head greenskeeper found out his wife was having an affair because not only were some of the pins just insanely placed on edges and crowns but half of the cups weren’t even cut vertically. The pins were leaning and it wasn’t wind. Pins on 6 and 16 were just ridiculous.
Layout. The layout is janky. Too many blind shots off the tee. Some blind approaches too.
Yardages were spooky. Hitting what I need on a par 3 frontside (7th hole) and dramatically long. Approach 16 based on yardage offered ended short. Both shots were flushed and the wind wasn’t a major factor on the day.
Tee boxes. Yeah. They’re supposed to be flat. Too many were crowned/rounded.
I’d offer a course to players before they start in ball mark repair. I fixed half a dozen on most greens. Oddly, the greens left huge ball marks but didn’t hold nearly as well as a receptive surface like these would typically see.
I get it. She’s not a PGA course and it IS a sub-6,000 yd layout from the tips. It could just be so much better with a little TLC and a course superintendent who wasn’t cuckold last week.
Hot as the Sun 🌞
Heat scared most of the golfers away so we flew through the course but had plenty of water.
Nice Golf Course
