Great Course, Slow Pace
Well I booked this course as it had a great price, and had a great time in previous years. Unfortunately, this trip was not as enjoyable. The course appeared to have oversold tee times as the pace of play was just brutal. We were waiting 15 minutes or more between holes, and were not even able to finish our round.
The worst part of all this was the course marshall. He was often seen on the course, but did nothing to ensure the pace of play picked up as it got progressively worse.
Sunny Friday at G.R.G.C
Great course for the money! It doesn't get much more scenic for $60/golfer in the GTA. My only negative is the tight layout from one hole to the next. If you're not straight off the tee or hitting greens, you could be hitting your fellow golfers on another hole. We heard a lot of "four!" While we played. Overall, great value though.
This course was very well maintained
Granite Ridge is an excellent course, l really enjoyed playing there.
.
Play Ruby course slightly longer course
Great course, not far from Toronto
Played Monday, not very busy, no waiting at all
Staff very friendly especially cart girl
Play Ruby course
Course is great for corporate events
Course is good. Wide open, and well maintained. Pace was slow as they were trying to appease golfers coming in and squeeze them between reserved tee times
Always enjoy a round here (when there's no tournaments) .
Only problem on course was other player's leaving ball marks on the greens . We fixed 3-4 each time ourselves ! It's a shame cause the greens would be beautiful if players took the time !
Nice course, good-to-great condition, good pace
The Cobalt course sets up well. The "tricky" features are kept to a minimum, it's mostly what-you-see is what-you-get. The course is well-maintained at a better-than-average condition and the staff are very helpful. Only comment from my playing partner is that the course is a bit "tight". Overall an honest-to-goodness course that offers a lot of value for the money.
Not bad
Nice course moderate if you stay in the fairways punishing if you stay. No issues at all great pace of play. No really spectacular holes
This course is well manicured and maintained
The greens are in great shape but could be a little bit faster. Had a great time and enjoyed the course very much. Will be back later in early fall.
Nice track. Greens need some work
Its a nice corse. The cobalt is definetly more challanging than the Ruby. Greens are a bit chewed up but nothing that creates too many priblems
Challenging course but forgiving, so very enjoyable!
This a great course just outside of Toronto. So great price and great location. The course is challenging but not in a frustrating way as there is some forgiveness. I recommend the cobalt course, but whole facility is nice.
Fun course, views of escarpment very nice, will play again, Thank you
Fun course, views of escarpment very nice, will play again, Thank you
Great day, great value
Played the Ruby course. Not very long but challenging enough.
Course was in a very good shape.
Only negative is the goose droppings on a few holes.
The course is very easy.
Shot 75, handicap 11, greens never broke as much as anticipated. Escarpment has effect on some putts.
Lack of marshalling leads to slow play, Tee boxes need levelling
I blame the slow play on two things
1. a greedy course looking to get as much cash as possible
2. no marshalling at all to at least speed it up somewhat
The greedy comment is supported by the cost of beverages and food on this course, which is gouging pure and simple
They also have no respect for loyal regular customers, sometimes two tournaments are on the go on both courses on a Sunday, that alone shows you they do not care about regular weekend players
The tee boxes on this course are pathetic, they should be soaked, then rolled level and lastly cut to fairway length
Tee boxes appear to receive little of no attention
Great Value
Granite Ridge offer 2 courses to choose from. We played the Cobolt and enjoyed it. Playing just over 6200 from the whites, although length is not the challenge, the tightness of some fairways will have you cursing. Great value for price and nice club house.
Poolry managed
This is <6K yrd course and it took us over 6hrs to play. They have over booked due to their greediness. I did not see 1 Marshal to move play along. People who have never played golf where playing from the tips with no marshal telling them the etiquette to move play along. In addition, there where 2 somes scattered everywhere. They should have been paired up with someone else if they are booking that many people. We also learned that they were also taking walk-on regardless if they where double, triple booked. Hard to get into the groove if your waiting 10-20 min per tee box or shot.
Will not play here again due to poor management and no marshals.
Course pace brutal
Our foursome was ready to tee off but both groups in front we're late. This interim caused our round to go over 5 1/2 hours. Not ONE Marshall came out to get the pace moving. Extremely frustrating and seemed way over booked. I'd play this course during the week but never again on a weekend.
Great Course
great golfing, pace was great finished the course in no time, great value for the money 2 p $112 cart included.
Will definitely go again and definitely worth the drive from Toronto
