Beechwood Golf & Social House
About
Beechwood Golf & Social House sprawls across gently rolling hills dotted with natural water features and trees, providing a terrain that is ideal for golf. The championship layout features fast, undulating greens and carefully contoured fairways. Ponds come into play throughout along with meandering creeks and streams. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers in play. Beechwood Golf & Social House's finishing hole is notable for both the scenery and challenges it offers. To begin the hole you need a precise drive between out-of-bounds on the left and a creek to the right that cuts into a landing area, and then you must make a skillful second shot to a triple-tiered green that slopes towards the creek's edge.

Love Beechwood!
Fantastic course and staff - love everything about Beechwood! Course was in great shape and staff are there to please. I go out of my way to play Beechwood, worth the drive and worth every weekend spent there!
Difficult Course
Brisk fall weather today course very accommodating with 1 of our guys showing up late no problem usually don't fare that well here but today hit the ball great didn't travel that far as the brisk temperature but scored my best round at course go figure EH
Great coarse
Great experience at this coarse. Staff was friendly and helpful. Coarse was in good shape and good pace of play. All around very happy, and would recommend!
Very enjoyable course, great staff
I was very pleased with the experience at the course today. I found the staff very friendly in the pro-shop and restaurant area. The course was well maintained and the greens were in good shape. I noticed that the carts were new which was nice.
Overall I was very pleased with the experience and would recommend this course.
From North Bay
Nice Course , Greens not in best shape, but playable , keep ball in fairway , rough long , sand traps don't have much sand , over all , for the price very good
A bit disappointed
This is not a complaint, just an observation. I have played the course a number of times on a Hot Deal and typically they let me on before my tee off time when not busy (minimal practice facilities). Today I was an hour early, the course was not busy however the guy in the shop said I was not to start until my tee off time because I had to share my cart. The starter was advised by walky talky just to make sure I didn't "cheat". At least two groups started before me with only one bag on a cart. I could have joined up but no, I was to wait my time. Technically they are right, PR-wise, bad move. Had I started with an earlier three-some I most likely would not have been affected by the rain, and not written this review. Note: services is already minimal at this course - get your own cart, carry your bag, no score sheet in the cart. Glade I did'n't pay full price!
poorly kept course
we were a 4some and used to play this course in a stag night. We thought we would give this another try to be severly disappointed in the conditions of this course. Water is cheap? large cracks in ground greens not cut.
Fairways a disaster!
Course needs alot of TLC. More bare patches than grass on the fairways. Greens we're the saving grace for the day.
No advice from the starter and no cart girl on a Sunday?
Seems they have let this course go downhill. Been 10 years since last playing here. Lack of employees or money? Groundskeeper???
If I had known the condition I certainly have not played here.
Hence the name change to "social club". Maybe it will be closing sooner than later.
Very Poor Condition
I know this course has new ownership but I don't believe they have put any money into it other than upgrading the pro shop which truthfully was fine the way it was. Money would have been much better spent looking after the fairways. They were terrible. The greens were exceptionally slow albeit they were still wet but still. This course has never been higher end but it was still enjoyable. Now, not so much. I truly hope they start taking better care or they will lose their members.
PATHETIC
PLAYED THIS COURSE YESTERDAY IF I NEW THE CONDITION OF THIS COURSE BEFORE i PLAYED NEVER WOULD HAVE PLAYED IT. THE FAIRWAYS LITERALLY ARE IN VERY POOR CONDITION. ITS LIKE PLAYING IN THE FIRST WEEK OF MARCH. THE TEE BOXES HAVE VERY LITTLE GRASS. YOU NEED TO LIFT YOUR BALL FOR EVERY SHOT TO FIND GRASS TO HIT THE BALL. WE PAYED 60 DOLLARS TO PLAY. WE COULD HAVE PAYED THE SAME TO GOLF AT ONE OF THE PARKS COURSES WHICH ARE KEPT IN IMMACULANT SHAPE. WHAT A DISCACE THATS ALL i CAN SAY
Terribly Maintained
Course as of this date is in terrible condition. Tee blocks mostly dirt, very uneven. Fairways like cement, drives often roll off or only stop when they hit something. Very little grass to hit off of. Most important the greens are dry and full of pot marks making it near impossible to make any putts over 3 feet. Wonky layout makes it difficult to find the next hole. Simple things like the yardage signs on the hole that don't match the scorecard show the neglected attitude the managers have.
Here's the kicker, no grass on most of the tees, terribly kept greens BUT when I was leaving they were watering the first fairway.
The only positive is the waitresses and bartender are super friendly.
Needs a lot of TLC
Don't know what happened to this course, but there is more dirt than grass in a lot of the fairways.
Great layout
We always enjoy playing at Beechwood. We love the layout, the nature and the big willow trees!
Course condition
Course layout was good however the state the course was awful. The fairways in area's were like hardpan other area's had a lot of dead or dry grass or it looked like very low cut rough. The greens were just as bad, there was a lot of either burnt (dead) grass or what looked fungus. The bunkers were not bunkers they were like very large pot holes with about an inch or 2 of sand, could not even get your club underneath the ball as there was no sand. We only saw 1 worker out on the course during our round doing any sort of maintenance and she was cutting what looked like for the most part dead grass. There was no indication that the fairways or greens had been watered.
Grounds need some work
I've played this course many times but here are the bullet points:
-Greens are in great conditions.
- Fairways are parched and bare in many places.
-Holes 15-17 across the road seem open and barren due to huge loss of diseased ash trees.
-Sand traps are hard and baked and mostly unplayable.
-Staff is friendlier than they used to be.
Always challenging.
Course needs water but every course does now.
Greens are great.
Enjoyed it
