Beechwood Golf & Social House
About
Beechwood Golf & Social House sprawls across gently rolling hills dotted with natural water features and trees, providing a terrain that is ideal for golf. The championship layout features fast, undulating greens and carefully contoured fairways. Ponds come into play throughout along with meandering creeks and streams. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers in play. Beechwood Golf & Social House's finishing hole is notable for both the scenery and challenges it offers. To begin the hole you need a precise drive between out-of-bounds on the left and a creek to the right that cuts into a landing area, and then you must make a skillful second shot to a triple-tiered green that slopes towards the creek's edge.

Poor customer service
On arrival praking not paved. Management and people in the pro shop need to learn custoner service. Golf course rough. For the price there are many courses in the area that are 4 star. Never again will I play here. Plus my team of 18 will never book here. The owners are rude.

A Very Hot Round
I was not impressed with the fact that it was hovering around 40'C with the Humidex and they did not have a beverage cart out on the course. There were also no drinking water stations provided through out the 18 holes. No Marshalls were patrolling the course, and as such, there were some foursomes that were loud and boisterous while we were trying to play.
Great value
The conditions of the greens were excellent. For the cheap price, this course was above average. The pro shop is average at best, and golfers should not expect much there. The overall course was challenging enough for an average golfer like me. It is definitely worth the money charged...I paid $30 walking.
Beechwood Golf
Had a fun day with the girls. Only negative was that we had a foursome hop in front of us and then we waited for them for what seemed like an eternity for the next few holes.
Never play here again,
Got attitude from the lady in the Pro shop. Tee times were not honored and members were put out in front in fivesomes. Pace of play sucked, members suck
Good value
Nothing special but a good golf test.
In need of mowing
Been playing here since the 70's and have never seen the greens as slow as they were. Fairways and rough were in need of some TLC as well.
I will always like the layout but it seems like they have neglected to keep the course as it once was.
Slightly below par
Couse was in need of some maintenance in a few areas. Overall not bad value for what you pay for a round
nasty rough
Course was in very good condition. they have some very challenging holes on this course, I had a bad driving day and paid the price as secondary rough is very thick and trees also caused lots of trouble, Greens were a little slow but in great shape and traps are around quite a few greens keeping your approach shots honest. Staff was very friendly and the dress code allows denim which is nice in this day and age, I believe collared shirts should be worn but neat blue jeans should be allowed . This course is a good challenge for any level of golfer as they have 4 sets of tee blocks that change the level of difficulty considerably
Beechwood
No hole layout at each tee box makes it extremely frustating with hidden greens and hazards.
nice course
no negatives nice layout great greens
good course for early season
fair condition for this early in the season, challenging with a good layout and enjoyable difficult greens, excellent value for spring play
Play at one of the other MANY LOCAL courses instead
I cannot believe the condition of this course, in relation to the ratings I've seen on this website. 18 reviews in last 6 months, and 11 RECOMMENDED this disaster?!? Wow. FAR too many other courses in Niagara (at this price), in far better condition. Rolling Meadows, Willowdell, Sawmill, Sparrow Lakes. I used a coupon and only paid $20 and for this quality of course, it was $10 over priced.
Pros:
In late Oct, there was 10 other golfers and us.
The greens were in pretty good shape.
The ProShop staff was friendly and courteous.
Cons:
Fairways were a mix of different grasses, mud, dead spots.
Then - you couldn't distinguish between rough and fairway because they were cut at the same height
Their tee boxes tended to be uneven. It's my belief that a tee box should be as smooth as glass, so that you're not teeing you ball up above or below your feet. They were hacked up by previous customers, and they weren't trimmed low enough (should resemble a green, not intermediate rough).
I have heard that this place USED to be a hidden gem. It will likely take too much hard work, dedication and $$$ from the course owner to get this course back to something that could be called "average".
For the price of a green fee here, golfers can play at other courses in far better condition - OR - if they want to pay a bit more - choose from dozens of top quality courses, all within :20 minutes of this place.
Farm Patch Fairways
I golfed here last about 3 years ago...what a difference from then till now! They held a Junior Championship here a few years ago. The fairways all were bare patched all over and the grass that was there was all different types and densities. The rough was mostly like a rock. The greens were ok for the most part and pin placement was challenging which was the only good in this day of golf. VERY disappointed in the course condition. Its like they gave gave up about 2 months ago trying to maintain a good course. Still amazed people play this course regularly.
Fairways in rough shape!
This course used to be a pleasure to play. However, it seems to have been let go a little bit over the past two years. The fairways were in bad shape, probably due to a grub problem. The greens were OK but some needed work. With the number of courses available to play on, they need to do a better job to attract more players.
Glad I did not pay full price
The fairways were in very poor condition & it seems like nobody fixes their divots. The traps had no sand in them so very tough to get out of. All in all I thought the course was not in very good shape. Our cart had not been cleaned up from the last person who used it & there was no scorecard on it when we got it. Thank goodness we booked through golfnow & did not pay full green fees
One of the worst tracks I've ever played
Horrendous track. Course is in deplorable condition. There are literally spots of cement-like dirt on the fairway. The staff are very nice, but this course is not worth your time. Spend your money elsewhere.
Unfortunate conditions
The summer was definitely hard on this course. The greens were in good shape but the fairways and some tee boxes were in bad shape. Got minor discount from booking on Golf Now but approximate cost of $50 dollars with cart and online booking fee was too high for conditions of course. Though I appreciate the course needs to make money to operate they must be honest about the conditions. What was a further disappointment was stopping for lunch which was just basic sandwiches ( at least but some more effort into thinks you can control- hot summers are tough on courses but better lunch selection isn't hard to manage). Overall not the experience we were looking for, especially for a long weekend and making the drive in from Toronto. We played at this course as friends live in the area but unless conditions improve might not be back.
worth the money
There are much better courses around but, the value for the price is great.
fairways
a lot of burned fairways some greens( very hot and humid) should not be watered midday as we golfed watering should be done am and pm but still a nice course
I would suggest you educate yourself before speaking on irrigation techniques in regards to turf management. As much as watering is usually done during the night, under certain circumstances, additional watering may need to be completed during the day. The irrigation system could have malfunctioned overnight, a repair within the system may have prevented them from running those certain areas. Who knows, by the sounds of it however if there were burnt areas on the course, that shows they were in need of water. While every golf course superintendent tries to minimize the disruption to play, if the turf needed the water, it very well wouldn't have made it through the day without damaging more turf. I am a golf course superintendent at a competing course and I really suggest that you educate yourself prior to criticizing their methods. All superintendents are trying to give you the golfer the best possible playing conditions.
