About
The Old Canal Course is one of three nine-hole courses at the Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club. Situated between the scenic Niagara Escarpment and the Bruce Trail, the Old Canal Course is named after the historic 120-year-old Welland Canal that borders it. The challenging layout was designed to championship standards, employing several tricky elements including carefully sculpted fairways, rolling greens, and king-size bunkers. True to its name, the golf course features plenty of water throughout. There are several dramatically placed tees perched on the edges of the canal, providing stunning scenery that is unmatched in the Niagara region. All three courses at Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club were built to the same high standards, but each one offers a unique set of challenges.

Great golfing
Never played this course but I have played a few other Kaneff courses ( lion’s head and Carlisle) overall nice layout and clubhouse was great! Staff were very pleasant to deal with!

Golf Course Improving Every Day
Love that they are working to improve the course, but it will take some time for all 3 nine courses be completed. Still a pleasure to golf there.
Improving Every Year
Nice to see that Kaneff is putting money into this great golf course, once a jewel of Niagara. Lets hope it comes back like that.
Great pace of play
Played 18 in 3 1/2hrs and course is in good condition and greens are best I have seen at this course

But for a Kanef property I would have expected a better t-box and hole directions
Very nice course, great condition....terrible smell
We just finished playing the course. Overall very good condition, decent value for money, challenging layout. I'm not sure if it was the wind direction today but the smell was terrible all day, it had a smell of sour garbage and it was honestly enough to make me question if I would play there again which is a share because it's a beautiful course and very well maintained.

5 1/2 hour round, not much fun, course is in great conditions.
