Worth a Trip to Norwood
Well established course with a dated club house. Fairways have patchy weeds; greens are a bit shaggy but provided a true roll. Several greens have huge slopes, adding to the challenge.
Great variety of holes, long and short. Several ponds and water courses. A lovely rural setting.
A few hills with scenic vistas.
Worth the price.
Feels like home.
Friendly! Always feel they're glad you came. Never overbooked. Lots of space.
Reasonably forgiving but some challenges. A couple very long par 5's.
My favourite in this area especially for the money.
Fun course
Oakland Greens is a good test. Great variety of holes for any level of player. They have made a good start in upgrading bunkers to white sand but not all of the bunkers have been dealt with. Fixing the few remaining ones would be an important uptick for this course. Some of the par 5s are on the short side which is good for scoring for solid shooters.
Great day
The course was in good condition. The sun was shining. I couldn't ask for a better day. I did notice another comment about yardage markers. Note the globe cedars are the 150 markers for the course.
I will be back for sure.
The course itself is in good condition, great staff, but if you don't have a range finder, you'll have a hard time finding the yardage. Markers are not visible.
great vlue
A great value and a course that can be challenging from all tee decks
Oakland Greens Golf and Country Club
Nice coarse well maintained Great place for the aveage golfer ,greens i great shap, will play there again
oakland greens
I had the worst experience on Wed. at Oakland greens. $0 of the holes had excess water on them. I the past I never saw sanding water on any of the holes but this spring and summer wet conditions do happen with al the rainfall. I will play this course another year, but not again this year.
This course is in really great shape considering the weather we have had.
My favourite course in the area to play while at the cottage.
Staff is friendly and clubhouse is great to come in and enjoy a beer after your round.
enjoyable
I had played her in the spring and the course had been damaged by grubs. The areas had been seeded. I was happy to see today they had filled in nicely. It has been a very wet summer so the course is wet but we had a great time.
Very wet
Course was very wet and some holes almost unplayable due to constant rainy weather in May and early June. Therefore much reduced prices for green fees would have been appropriate.
This course was in very poor condition
We started on the back nine that was not too bad but was very wet and muddy in some places, a lot of winter damage.
The front nine was severly winter damage, and tee boxes where very rough or not even tee boxes.
The course should be advising golfers of the poor conditions before booking, also web site should be advised before advertising a hot deal!!!!
Rough
It's too bad this is the only real big long course around the cottage the back fairways were rough 2 year ago when we played and they have improved but there is so much dead grass and dirt your moving your ball to a grassy patch on a lot of holes due to the fairway being dirt too bad we really liked it before I guess we will have to play Warkworth or salt creek
Dry, not so dry
After current rains, thought the course could be anything but dry and most of it was either fine or wet from rains. However, there were lots of bare patches recently seeded. Also, greens, though cut nicely short, had fairly recently been aerated so were a bit bumpy. Will be a nice course when everything gets "settled"..
Dry fairways like a desert .
Play it in a time when there is rain. Extremely dry.
Hidden Gem
Everything was very good. A little dry but everything around the area is. Greens were small but very well groomed, true, good speed. Play was light the day we played so we were done in 3 hours. Course is walk-able and didn't have to take cart. We will definitely do again. The Golfnow rate was excellent.
oackland Greens
The course is in good shape considering how dry it has been this spring
All of that damage was seeded in the spring and has grown in nicely.
