Batteaux Creek Golf Club

About
Situated amidst the scenic Georgian Triangle, Batteaux Creek Golf Club stretches across 250 acres of rolling hills that are sprinkled with lakes and ponds. The challenging, 18-hole links layout has many risk-and-reward opportunities that appeal to players of all skill levels. The greens are undulating and quite large, allowing for numerous ball placement choices, and the landing areas are generous but the middle is not always the best shot. There are bentgrass fairways and numerous bunker’s strategically placed throughout in addition to the water hazards. One of Batteaux Creek Golf Club’s most interesting holes is the par-5 17th, which is a dogleg left that features a pond on the left that filters into a creek that then crosses the hole diagonally from 150 yards in.

Firming Up
After a very soggy spring, things are firming up, soon time to start up the sprinklers. There is evidence of repairs to the bunkers which is great news as they were always the weak link here. Some winter kill on the greens . Today, pace of play was amazing - less than 3 hours a s a single following a 2-some.
Great shape overall.
The course is typically in great shape especially the greens but this round the greens were crusty and very slow. They had been sanded the week previous but a week later it was surprising how slow they were.
I like this course a lot. Try to play it a few times a year. Took a friend who played it for the 1st time and was very impressed.
Course has great layout
Love playing this course. The greens are top notch and the course is in great shape
Great time for a beautiful day
Played Batteaux on a beautiful Saturday and was worried the pace of play would be poor. But it was great for a late morning tee time. We rarely waited and they told us the course was packed.
The fairways and tee boxes are in good shape and really it was only the greens that were the lower point. They must have just aerated or threw sand on them because they were very hard and unforgiving at times.
Cool design and layout though. Some great chances to use all of your clubs and requires some accurate tee shots to be in the right place. Not a terribly long course but it was fun
Beverage cart was out constantly and that person did a great job.
Batteaux Creek is a challenging and beautiful course
The course was very well maintained and the greens were beautiful. Staff was very friendly and quick to address any issues/help out. Starter was knowledgeable and fast. Pace of play was great and food was good. Would definitely recommend this course as long as you don't mind a bit of a challenge. The placement of some of the bunkers can feel pretty difficult, but that's fair because the slope rating is 134!
Needs course marshalls
Front nine we had a tournament in front of us and many holes had 2 or 3 groups waiting to tee off. Course Marshall didn't seem concerned. After front nine, tournament group went into clubhouse which made back nine pace of play excellent. Other than that course in good shape.
Batteaux Creek
Excellent conditions especially given the wet spring we have had.
Challenging layout well groomed.
Great value as we had a Hot Deal. Declined the cart as it is a very walkable course.
Highly recommend this course and will definitely play again
Fun course
Great layout, pace of play sad excellent, greens where in good shape for spring golf. Great value for money.
loved the layout. fairways excellent.
sand traps need some work but could have been because of wet weather.
Will be back.
Very Friendly and Helpful Staff
From the bag drop (Jake?) to the pro Shop staff and the on-course marshal, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Even though we came in off the course for a torrential rain delay, everybody was friendly and upbeat. You don't always get that as a non-member player.
Always a pleasure to play
Course is always kept in excellent playing conditions. Challenging course but fair. Looking forward to coming back!
Great condition for early season
Enjoyed the layout, serene location-18000 steps so we got a workout...
For time of year - course was great
Course will close shortly - but given relatively cold weather, course was in good shape (could not help the wet conditions). Will be back next season.
Pace of play
Starter tried to send me out 1/2 hour later to fill a foursome.. Went out by myself on scheduled time and met up with another 3 some on 4th hole. Waited to hit every single shot for the rest of the round. The 2 groups ahead of us were terribly slow. Even the starter on the first hole, after he tried to shaft me,, said it would be a slow day. If he knew from the start it would be a slow day, why did he not have a Marshall keeping it moving? Marshall’s need to follow the slow players and get them moving. Other than that, the golf was great!
