Nice course right off the QEW
Pros:
- course is always in good condition
- driving range available
- staff is friendly
- Great course instructor if you need a lesson (Ed Maunder)
- usually a good pace of play
Cons:
- they expect carts in 15 mins before sunset which is a bit of a waste when you're trying to squeeze as many holes as you can for Twilight
- no grass tees at the range
- club house is limited
So far so good,,,,
Green and fairway are good condition, but a little soft after rain. This course is one of the easy accessible from the Qew. You may be happy,,,,with great value,,,
Course is great. They allowed to start early and we were done in 3 and a half hours!
Marshall let us play back 9 then took us to the third whole to skip a couple of groups to make our play quicker. Great staff and course.
Amazing price
We got the fire sale deal and played for $19. I grew up playing Deerfield and never played it for that kind of rate. The greens were in great shape as was the course. Pace was good too. The clubhouse, bathrooms and restaurant are pretty gross at this point and need renovation but we barely spend any time in there anyway. Nobody selling food or drinks on the course either which is weird but we will definitely go back even if we have to pay a bit more.
Great course to play while attending the Canadian Open
Not too difficult and not too easy
Not too long and not too short
Not too hilly and not too flat
Just right if you're looking for a nice little muni too play while attending the RBC Canadian Open
played it before and we'll play it again!
gravel cart paths
Pro shop, starter, marshals all very nice. Practice putting green in great shape but could use a "no chipping" sign as we were told not to. The chipping area is very small but well maintained. The course generally was in very good shape. Cart paths are gravel and wear out your pull cart wheels very quickly, if you play there a lot.
Lucky Round
We decided there was a window of decent weather between the rain showers and booked the round on the spur of the moment. The idea worked well as the course was quiet and we played the front nine in 90 minutes. The back nine took an extra 15 minutes when we caught up to some slower groups. The course was in good condition and the rain held off till we were putting on 18. Lucky us.
go play
This coarse is a good test of golf, there is water in play 8 of 9 on the front 9.has a driving rance, cupping and putting greens as well.
So get out there and play!
Sunny Day after 2 days of rain - soggy
Lots of casual water and puddles on course deep enough to require detours while walking to our balls.
Greens were in excellent shape, even hard given all the rain.
Traps were packed, not raked or restored after the rain.
Course played very long with no roll, plugged shots regardless of club used. Lift clean and place was of no use on many lies.
Nice to get out on a sunny day. Course conditions disappointed - maybe my fault for playing too soon after heavy rains. The course needs more than 24 hours to be playable.
Wet day
The course was very wet, no fault of Deerfield. Heavy rain on Thursday. The greens were in great shape, hope everyone is considerate and repairs their balls marks this year!!! The fairway grass is in excellent shape with very few weeds, between 17th green and 18th tee block it should be sprayed for dandelions. Should be a good course to play this year as long as they keep it watered.
