gravel cart paths
Pro shop, starter, marshals all very nice. Practice putting green in great shape but could use a "no chipping" sign as we were told not to. The chipping area is very small but well maintained. The course generally was in very good shape. Cart paths are gravel and wear out your pull cart wheels very quickly, if you play there a lot.
Lucky Round
We decided there was a window of decent weather between the rain showers and booked the round on the spur of the moment. The idea worked well as the course was quiet and we played the front nine in 90 minutes. The back nine took an extra 15 minutes when we caught up to some slower groups. The course was in good condition and the rain held off till we were putting on 18. Lucky us.
go play
This coarse is a good test of golf, there is water in play 8 of 9 on the front 9.has a driving rance, cupping and putting greens as well.
So get out there and play!
Sunny Day after 2 days of rain - soggy
Lots of casual water and puddles on course deep enough to require detours while walking to our balls.
Greens were in excellent shape, even hard given all the rain.
Traps were packed, not raked or restored after the rain.
Course played very long with no roll, plugged shots regardless of club used. Lift clean and place was of no use on many lies.
Nice to get out on a sunny day. Course conditions disappointed - maybe my fault for playing too soon after heavy rains. The course needs more than 24 hours to be playable.
Wet day
The course was very wet, no fault of Deerfield. Heavy rain on Thursday. The greens were in great shape, hope everyone is considerate and repairs their balls marks this year!!! The fairway grass is in excellent shape with very few weeds, between 17th green and 18th tee block it should be sprayed for dandelions. Should be a good course to play this year as long as they keep it watered.
Rainy Weekend Golf
This is a great little course within Oakville with some challenging holes. Good value for the price. It is well kept. Just off N. Service Rd. and with other golf courses within Oakville closing, I hope it sticks around. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. You can finish in 3 hours, provided there is no delay. Unfortunately, a lot of duffers show up to this course and there is a lack of marshalls to control the pace. Also, a weekend tournament with some very drunk golfers was disappointing as they used the power carts to tear up the fairways. (One of them dropped a deuce on the 17th hole.) Not the courses fault. Too bad some folks act like idiots. I would recommend the course though.
VERY ENJOYABLE
STAFF FRIENDLINESS WAS GREAT. THE COURSE IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, LARGE PLUSH GREENS, VERY WELL MAINTAINED, PACE OF PLAY WAS VERY GOOD.THE SAND TRAPS WERE FILLED WITH FINE SAND EASY TO HIT OUT OF.I WILL BE BACK TO PLAY THIS COURSE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE COURSE WON THIS TIME HOPING THE NEXT TIME I WILL BEAT THE COURSE.
Nice little place to play and practice
What a gem with all the wild life walking around the area they mind there ps and Sq among the golfers . Some wild life on the course even know the rules of golf as one golfer found out as he hit the green and made a dent the goose chased the deter all over the green and squawked. The coarse is short but the greens are tricky all in all well rounded course
Great Shape
This course is in fantastic shape considering the dry year we've had very impressed with the services and the people
Nice coarse
One of the nicest coarse s in oakville it is a challenge on some of the holes do to small undulations in the greens but the greens are some of the best kept in the area hats off to the super Ian and his staff. The owner help me out a lot by being so stern and letting me play the game I love. They give me a good rate at times being such a nice quiet pleasant person to be around now that said the rates are a little pricey but that's the industry. The teaching pro is such a good teacher and very straight forward. And an ex ell ant golfer and that is what I would like to do but servant a holes are not letting me Ken Myers
Great Course - Just off the Highway
Did not know this course existed. It is a great course to walk. Fairly flat and has some great challenges. Since it is was very windy, it posed some really tricky shots. The course is very open so the wind plays a great amount of havoc on your shots. Use an extra club. The greens are great and they roll true. There are no bumps like you get on other public courses. Course Signage can be better. It is hard to figure out your way if you have never played this course before.
Not worth the money
There are a ton of courses better than this one for the money you will pay.
