Deerfield
Pretty good wide open fairways
Immaculate
Very challenging- top rate
Greens need some attention
I've played here a couple times over the years, I like the course. However, I found their greens needed some attention, they have been poorly maintained. Lots of "waste" on them. Not cut cleanly / some not really cut at all..
A little disappointing, but still overall a good place to play!
Course has closed by residence area.
Good course to play as such a good weather and good condition of lawn care.
Good course for the money
Great value for the money. Close to the city and right off the QEW. Good course to go out with a foursome of all skill levels. Course is fairly easy off the tee, the greens are the toughest part. Would play again...only complaint is they didn't have a bev cart and it was a very hot day when we played, had to wait until halfway to grab refreshments.
over priced for quality
The greens were very slow and inconsistent. They had been treated with some sort of chemical that coated the ball an any club that touched them with a sticky substance. Very disappointing based on the price range of this course.
Conditions were better than past
Greens and fairways were in the best shape I've seen in a while and played pretty true. This is a good course if you don't want too much trouble to contend with.
Very nice
Friendly staff and well maintained course.
Easy to access from QEW.
I will recommand this club to my friends.
bad and slow
Horrible shape and slowest play ever, 15 - 20 minute wait between holes
Boring Round of Golf
As I continue to travel around Southern Ontario playing courses, I was excited to play Deerfield. That excitement came to an abrupt end when I walked into the pro shop to pay for my tee-time. The attendant (around 4pm) seemed very unpleasant and unwelcoming. The course it self was very boring. Littered with basic dog-legs, you could anticipate each hole. The fairways weren't distinct from the 1st cut of rough, only on the 18th hole did the grass cut differ. My playing group and I found that the course did not challenge us.
The course plays similar to a "Southern Pines" in Mount Hope.
Twilight Golfer
Course location is very convenient for a after work round of golf. Good mix of challenging holes. Greens are in good condition. Overall enjoyed our round.
On a sour note, twice had groups appear from no where, rush to tee off and turn out to be poor players. What's up with that!!!
Local course for the beginner player
This course is short but has some holes that will challenge even a better player. Water hazards come into play regularly on the front nine. Because of its location and reputation, there are a lot of beginner and newer players out. Average pace of play is over 4 hours because of this.
Golfing with 2 others with my friend
Staff very polite and friendly.Course in fair condition.Teeoff time prompt. We began @4:44p.m. And finished @ 9:20p.m. Without finishing #18.The 2 younger(than us) gentlemen we were paired with were very friendly and fun, however they were hitting balls every which way and looking for them-the play was so slow!A Marshall was never coming by.I find it takes away from the concentration of your game when you are waiting like this.In future I prefer to play with who I Booked with.We are seniors in our 70's and we had no problem keeping up.
Average course at best.
I played with a friend and was joined by to wonderful lads. We teed off before noon and finished our round after five pm. There are signs everywhere stating that they have a four hour policy for the round but we never saw a ranger the whole time we were out there. It will be a long time before I return.
Excellent course but really slow
I thoroughly enjoyed my round at Deerfield however after teeing off around 10 minutes later than our official start time we then played our 18 holes in 4 hours and 40 minutes. This meant we just had enough light walking off the course at 9:20. Judging by the amount of cars in the car park there must have been many more left on the course. The front 9 were really bad but thankfully the back 9 did speed up slightly.
There are more than enough hazards to keep you on your toes and the greens were the truest running greens I have played on this year.
I would have no 2nd thoughts about playing this course again but hopefully we can at least take 30 minutes from the overall length of the round.
Great Customer Service
I was late for my tee time due to work and they squeezed me in anyway and gave me a bucket of balls to practice until they were able to get me onto the course.
Great customer service
Great course
Staffs very nice and great golf course.
City to golf course only half hour.
Deerfield - Oakville
Great day of golf, with weather in the high 20C and lots of sun. Course fairways were dry due to the lack of rain in the area for the past month. Greens were in very good shape. The course has lots of water to contend with so accuracy is important. If the temperature is above 20C I would recommend a cart as there is no drinking water on the course at all so you have a hard time keeping hydrated when walking.
