Average course at best.
I played with a friend and was joined by to wonderful lads. We teed off before noon and finished our round after five pm. There are signs everywhere stating that they have a four hour policy for the round but we never saw a ranger the whole time we were out there. It will be a long time before I return.
Excellent course but really slow
I thoroughly enjoyed my round at Deerfield however after teeing off around 10 minutes later than our official start time we then played our 18 holes in 4 hours and 40 minutes. This meant we just had enough light walking off the course at 9:20. Judging by the amount of cars in the car park there must have been many more left on the course. The front 9 were really bad but thankfully the back 9 did speed up slightly.
There are more than enough hazards to keep you on your toes and the greens were the truest running greens I have played on this year.
I would have no 2nd thoughts about playing this course again but hopefully we can at least take 30 minutes from the overall length of the round.
Great Customer Service
I was late for my tee time due to work and they squeezed me in anyway and gave me a bucket of balls to practice until they were able to get me onto the course.
Great customer service
Great course
Staffs very nice and great golf course.
City to golf course only half hour.
Deerfield - Oakville
Great day of golf, with weather in the high 20C and lots of sun. Course fairways were dry due to the lack of rain in the area for the past month. Greens were in very good shape. The course has lots of water to contend with so accuracy is important. If the temperature is above 20C I would recommend a cart as there is no drinking water on the course at all so you have a hard time keeping hydrated when walking.
A slow Saturday afternoon
Course was in good shape, greens were a little slow. Back nine, we had to wait for almost every shot with no rangers in sight to move things along. Round took 2 hours on the front and 2 3/4 on the back. Good thing it was a beautiful day.
Could have been better
Course was in great shape and weather was excellent. There were 2 pairs of 4-somes ahead of us that were extremely slow. We were paired up with other 2-somes but 2 of them left the course because of slow play. Staff did try to speed things up but did not help much. In the end, we had to quit as well due to other commitment in the evening. It would have been 5 and half hour round which was quite painful...
Good enough for my game
Apart from it being my worst round of the season ( my fault ), the course is in great condition. Some tough holes (#10 was particularly challenging). The starter was very helpful - giving me advice I did not follow - and paid the consequences of. Would play again - perfect weather, but a bit windy.
Worth the money
The greens were in great shape and the course is well maintained well worh it for what we spent!!
This course is in excellent condition with great features
we only did 9 holes as we didn't tee off until 4:45 pm. ,there were four of us and we had a wonderful round. The course was in excellent condition...always find No. 9 a challenge going over the pond...sometimes we make it over...and then sometimes we donate a few balls!
3 food suggestions to get to 5 stars!!!
Dear Deerfield,
Please do away with the Old Dutch chips, they are very inferior to Lays or Ruffles. Also, the fountain pop was flat and there was no option to buy bottled or canned pop. Thirdly, there were no chocolate bars for sale.
Accomplish these 3 things and I will rate 5 stars on food!
Deeerfield outing
greens recently aerated were bumpy, couldn't get true roll.Otherwise, course in good condition ,greens would normally be fast and good. Fairly flat course, easy walking, lots of seniors, similar to Saw-whet golf club next door..Room to wander on adjacent fairways with a few tight holes,.Autuum leaves were not a problem in late oct. Fairly easy course for scoring if you keep it in play.
This course is enjoyable to play on
We played twice on the back now due to irrigation still have lots of fun
