Great Round
Booked a hot deal for a great price. Pleasantly surprised by the recently renovated facilities and friendly staff. I find we don’t always get a positive reception as female golfers but staff here were incredibly friendly and welcoming so we felt right at home. The course was in great shape especially considering how dry things have been. Overall very impressed and hope to go back!
Nice course.
Good golf course for the money. Can be quite challenging at times.
Worth the drive.
Very nice course in good shape. Pace of play was good. Very helpful and friendly staff.
It’s worth the drive to Port Dover
For this early in the season the course is in very good condition. The greens were fairly quick and in good shape. Got a great deal on GolfNow and the weather cooperated as well. Can’t ask for anything more….” Well a better golf swing.would be nice.”
Worth the Drive
From my home in Hamilton, the Pt. Dover course is approx. one hour's drive but it is well worth it. I hadn't played there in a few years and thus was pleasantly surprised by the upgrades both on and off the course.
We were first welcomed by a jovial starter ; then after checking in we were sent on our way with two pleasant golfers also from Hamilton. Since it was a beautiful day the course was busy but we were around in a fairly brisk 4.5 hours despite letting two groups play through. Marshalls were making their rounds attentively but not intrusively..
One of the difficulties with the course in past years was
poor drainage but there is now evidence of extensive new drainage ditches on both nines to deal with this problem. The greens were pristine with challenging hole locations and good speed. New "tips"have been added to many holes to challenge the low handicap golfer. The
par 4 15th which I would label the course's signature hole is especially diabolical from the backs.
Pt. Dover has an impressive practice area with a large
practice green and a most extensive short game facility including a bunker. From the cement patio you can watch approach shots to the two tiered ninth green or follow the ball flights of golfers starting their rounds off the 1st.
And, of course, the price was right; $30 + tax including cart on GN. Worth the drive.
