Richmond Centennial Golf Club
About
Situated just 15 minutes from Ottawa's west end, Richmond Centennial Golf Club is routed through mature woodlands, making it an especially scenic course to visit in the fall. The par-67 course is gentle enough for beginners and juniors, which makes it a great option for families. The golf course originally opened with only one nine in 1967. The front nine has remained largely unaltered over the years, but the back nine that was added later enhanced the course with several challenging elements. The contrast between the player-friendly front nine and the tougher back nine make for an interesting round. Richmond Centennial Golf Club is mostly flat though you will come across a few subtle but tricky slopes. There are also a few water hazards and strategically placed sand traps to watch out for.

Short and easy course
Richmond Centennial was shorter than expected , it is a par 67 only. The course is very flat and short. If you are a long hitter , this might not be for you , you might be able to reach the Green's of some par 4 easily. There is a lot of par 3's and only one par 5's. The staff was pleasant and the price was unbeatable. It is a good alternative if you want some practice on an easy course.
Good course
Overall course was good but reservation from Golf Now did not work. I got the confirmation but I was apparently the 4th person who booked with Golf Now that day for 1:30pm. I wasn't in a rush so didn't mind waiting but it would've been pretty annoying if that wasn't the case. They accomodated as best as they could but pace of play was fairly slow as a result.
Leisurely stroll around bunch of hazards
After a quiet front nine that is relatively calm one sets out onto a back nine that is alive with water hazards, large swaths of swampy terrain and plenty of trees that keeps you chasing after balls if not accurate in your play. Albeit a short course, it is a nice test for an average golfer.
If only the club house was even 20% as good as the condition of the course!
Challenging, good condition, signage would help with directions to some holes. Use bug dope on the back nine. The club house is in embarrassing shape.
front 9 good
Front is in good condition and plays well. A little tight with the tee blocks, definitely have to keep an eye on the players behind you. Back 9 howere was kind of patchy with a lot of shots over marsh land where you can't see the landing spots or hazards on opposite side. I would play front 9 twice for 18 don't bother with the back. 3 stars
Richmond Centennial golf
Front nine signage for tee boxes not the good hard time to figure out where to go . Back nine was a horror fairway signage did not match up with the position of the greens and it also failed to show marsh hazards hiding the greens. Basically you could not see where you were going in order to plan out a play for the hole.
Nice course, bad layout.
The course was really well maintained, the greens were very nice, and some holes could be challenging. The layout of the course however is not great, as many times you will find yourself backtracking between holes on the front nine. Other than that, definitely worth the value.
we liked it!
My wife and I are novices, and this course was close to home, friendly, not too expensive and interesting lay out. It wasn't too busy so we were able to play as a twosome without being forced to be in a foursome and the pace was great. We will play here again.
Excellent walking course
Enjoyed my solo "practice" round, with no pressure to team up with anyone. Course was not too wet for walking, but carts being allowed out after a few days of rain was not a good idea..............hard on the fairways.
Great Value
Great Value ($9/person)
Had to wait forever for a 2nd cart (should have reserved)
Most of the course was in good shape, but the part that were bad, were really bad
Bugs were horrible, might have been the time of year or day (May 4-8pm)
The layout is bad, constantly back tracking from green to next tee
Definitely a course for people looking for value
Some holes are really hard when it is your first time out as you have no idea where the hole is and what is in the way
Great practice course
Great practice course. Short play time, done in a couple of hours. Great to work on your short game.
Ideal for the beginner golfer.
The front nine is relatively open with many short holes. Great for the beginner! The back nine, although short, is more difficult, requiring more precision off the tee.
The layout of the course is not the best
The layout of the course is kind of weird. espacially the first nine holes. It feels like you are walking back and forth. If someone wants to play at this course, i would recomend getting a power cart.
Nice course, well maintained. Picturesque. All around very nice
Course was great, well maintained. Greens were in very good shape. Staff was very friendly and I am going to go again with friends guaranteed
Awful
Just bad set up. People teeing off at each other, ground was so hard and rough the hole way. Made driving a cart feel like you were bumping around everywhere.
No clubhouse just a big shack where you pay. Will not be returning.
No par 5s but challenging layout for the price
Quick play, well maintained, short course no par 5s, par 67, but several challenging holes over sensitive protected swamps, nice layout with doglegs, mature course with trees and water in play
This course has some simple holes, and some holes that were poorly designed.
Course layout has a lot to be desired. Many holes were very poorly designed.
Fun course
Well maintained. Open on front 9 & narrow on back 9. Love it.
Good Potential
A bit too much bush, slows down the game people in front take too long looking for lost balls. Needs to be cleaned up a little.
Beginners
Nice course for the money. Lots of par threes and is a short course so the walk is not very long. There is only one problem with the course and that is that some area still have some winter damage.
