What Happened
This course was always a go to course for over 20 years. The tee box, you could not put in a tee on any of them. Hard as cement! The putting greens surface grass was high especially around the holes, we have never experienced this anywhere. The fairways grass was tall and like cement.
Very disappointed we choice this Course for Father's Day.
We are considering never returning.
Sadly there were no practice facilities available before out round.
The practice range was full and there were not practice balls.
The practice putting area was full of children.
Excellent, as usual
Course was in a great condition. Love the feel of the cushiony fairway! Greens were also in pretty good shape, nothing to complain about. Pace was a bit rushed as we had a fast group behind us and always felt a bit rushed. Good value for the money, especially the twilight rounds.
Pleasant Surprise - but needs water on the tee decks
Wasn't sure what to expect given the very public and relaxed nature of the driving range, but the course was a very nice surprise. They are adding over 1,000 yards to the course with beautiful new tee decks and the course has some very challenging holes.
However - the brand new tee deck were like pavement! Incredible new grass areas but literally could not get a tee into the ground. Wound up using an indoor artificial grass pyramid tee for the round.
Great Course
First time playing this course and I was pleasantly surprised. Staff was super helpful and kind. It was extremely windy when I played so the openness of the course helped to find balls. Some tricky holes with doglegs and water which make the course fun to play as well as some short par 4s which are great. Excited to have the blue tees open up to make the course a bit longer. Overall a great course for the money.
Snails pace & rock hard tee box
If I ever play BD again, I’ll make sure to bring a mini hammer to put the tees into the ground. It was literally rock hard and broke several tees. The pace was extremely slow, partly because there were no active marshals to manage the pace. Including our group, there were 3 groups waiting to tee off at every hole because the group ahead of us spent crazy amount of time looking for lost balls. We had to drop by the clubhouse to complain at which time, someone finally went out on to the course to tell the slow group to move along. Need to be better, BD. I’ll be playing at the Rolling Hills Challenge until I hear things have improved.
OK, but....
Played just after a t-storm, so not busy at all. Course is so-so; generally flat and mildly tree-lined, greens flat without surrounding trouble. Maintained well and staff competent. Paid a seniors' twilight rate with cart, which I thought was expensive for what I got. Would recommend, especially for seniors or beginners.
