Wildwinds
great course, always a challenge, depending how you well you play. Good course for everyone, open the rough is not nice. The traps need work, hard as rock, need redoing, club house is inviting, staff are great
Enjoyable round
Courteous staff, great course condition, nice sunny day. What more can you ask for?
Great bang for your buck
This course has become my bew favorite. Staff here are friendly and very helpful. The course itself has its challenging holes but has its forgiving ones too. The course is clearly well taken care of and the scenery is beautiful. The thing that keeps me coming back is the pace of play. Even when its busy there isnt much waiting. I golf here now a couple times a week and i find it the best kept secret in the area. You wont be disappointed.
wildwinds
nice course, played many times, people are great course well laid out worth the trip, it takes us 40 minutes to get there.
Bunkers
Great course except bunkers they are full of stones.
Wildwinds Critique
This is a very fine golf course and I would love to play it more often but this time the greens had been aerated and they were non playable for the most part. If I had known that I would not have booked the round since h this course typically has very difficult greens and is fun to watch your partners struggle just as much as you.Any other time would be great to play but not on these greens
Wild Winds course review
Played this course on Wednesday and weather was perfect. Started on the 1st hole which can be challenging if you miss your tee shot. got to the green to find out that they had been aerated and very bumpy. This was somewhat disappointing and would not have played the course if I had known in advance. it is as much my fault as i never asked.
The rest of the course is in magnificent condition and is well laid out and great value for the money. Time of play as ok and hardly had to wait at any tee other than the 9th which often times is backed up.
Once the greens are done, I will go back and highly recommend the course
play it again
It's a great course with no pressure. Challenges at some holes but great for all levels.
Surprisingly Enjoyable
I was pleasantly surprised to play Wildwinds for the first time a few days ago. Good track with lots of different looks (up-hill, down-hill, dog legs, long and short par threes). Plenty of room to smack the driver but some tight shots, too. Challenging greens with great pace. Short from the tips (about 6050 if I remember) but still lots of challenge. Would definitely play again.
Great Day
Teed off at 2:15 on a Sunday, pace was a little slow, waited on most shots.. The group that was two groups in front of us was very slow. No course ranger to hurry them along. Fun course in good shape. Would recommend it to all levels of golfers.
Beautiful Country Golf
Enjoyed a great day of golf at Wildwinds in Rockwood. One of the nicer days of the summer, with manageable wind (for Wild-WINDS). This is an excellent track and was in excellent shape. Definately a must play, for any level of golfer.
Wildwines golf course
The course is in excellent condition and greens kept exceptionally well. This is a long challenging course that plays both into and with the wind
Large greens that are rolling and difficult
Staff is very friendly and welcoming and this is a very good course to play for the value and will definitely play there again soon
out of the way but worth the drive
Our foursome has been playing this course 1-3 times per year, for over 10 years. It has a varied layout, elevation changes some bunkers and no water hazards. It has always been in good to great shape and the greens are mostly large, undulating, run true and in perfect condition. Really worthwhile at the price.
great value but no marshalls
a shortish course playing just over 6000 yds from the tips. greens look slow but play decently fast with nap to be taken into consideration on every green. pity about the speed of play though as nary a marshall in sight. 4 3/4 hours is way too long for a late Sunday afternoon round of golf.
Excellent condition!
The course is in great shape. Greens are fast but will hold. I would go right at them. Bump and run and it has a tendency to run off. Staff was awesome. Only down fall is the bunkers. They are not dragged and have a lot of rocks in them. Go play and have fun!!
