Pheasant Run Golf Club - Midlands
About
The Midlands Course is one of three challenging nine-hole courses at Mill Run Golf Club. The nines can be played in different 18-hole combinations, providing a variety of options. The Midlands Course features dramatic elevation changes and heavily tree-lined holes, rewarding strategic, target-oriented play. The layout features a naturally rolling landscape with stingy landing areas and lush fairways guarded by swales and bunkers. Golfers face many challenges but there is some respite in the large, player-friendly greens. Midlands features two of the most challenging par 5s in the area, most notably its finishing hole. This hole requires pinpoint shots to a narrow landing area bordered by trees and a pond that runs the entire length of the fairway.

Great fall day for golf! Photo submitted by jonefraser on 10/20/2012
Beautiful views.
Played here for the first time this year. Highland, Midlands. Highland is a beautiful 9 with lots of great holes, while the Midlands has a few amazing holes and a few lesser holes. I enjoyed them both never the less. Nice welcome as we dropped off clubs. Two young guys checked us in were very friendly. Off we went finished in just over 3.5 hours. Some amazing views with the fall leaves turning amazing colours. The only negative was when I booked thru Golfnow as soon as I pressed reserve, a green aeration notice came up on the screen, which also said you can only cancel 48 hours in advance which was too late. It wasn't that bad but I think Golfnow should probably mention such things prior to reserving the tee time.Still enjoyed the course and I would definitely return.
Challenging course
Hi Course is very pretty and not that long but it plays tuff because of the rolling terain and the tight fairways.
the staff was greatr to discribe the course to a tee and give us valuable tips
Pheasant Run-Fall Golf
The golf course was in good condition given the time of year. The greens were in above-average shape and surprisingly fast. The fairways were cleared of Fall leaves, although the rough could have benefited from some cleaning and lawn care.
Fall golf in the GTA can be very enjoyable as the leaves are turning and if the sun is shining, it can be quite enjoyable for the walk/drive through the well tree-lined fairways.
The staff were very helpful placing the golf bags on the carts especially given the early cold temperatures of the day.
The course played extra long due to the time of year and swirling and equally unpredictable winds.
The GolfNow Saturday fees were $70 CDN but no different from what was available at the course.
Short Course Requires Course Management
From white tees the Middle/ Highlands track requires precise fairway woods and middle irons to keep ball in play for a total playing yardage of 5,985 yds. Greens are small with undulations making putting challenging once you get there. Proper hole course management a must to shoot a low score. Course will keep you thinking.
Look forward
One of my favorites golf courses. I enjoy every opportunity I have to play it.
Saturday morning fun
Staff were great, pace of play was good.
The course is in very good condition. Don't stop at Tims along the way, the coffee and muffins are great.
Awesome course in good shape
I had great time even though weather was not very nice. Staffs were very nice, course condition was very good. It was great to see several pheasants landed on the middle of the fairway and went into the forest. Only the green speed was not fast enough than my expectation. I'd love to come back this course again!
Thanks for your observations and compliments. and thanks for coming out all the way from Mississaugua! - GM
great
Played 9 holes on the midlands course. Looked great and well kept but got held up right from first hole. Once the group ahead let me pass it was a great experience. Staff were friendly. Would deffinetly play again.
Pheasant run
played 2 weeks after greens aerated and sanded, greens were perfect and course condition was good.
This is a must play
What a beautiful course. The course has elevated T boxes and rolling fairways which makes it very challenging. You almost have to be dead center of the fairway toe get a flat lie. They course is kept in great shape and you really must manage the course. A few very tough holes, long par 3 and the 6th has water on both sides and bunker along the front of the green.
You have to play this course.
Difficult course, good conditions
Played on a Friday morning, great conditions, good pace, friendly staff.
Fast Round
On the holiday weekend that course was deserted. Played in just over 3 hours. In very nice condition.
Disappointed
Played the uplands and the southern uplands . Greens in very rough shape on both . One temporary green in middle of fairway . This course is definately not worth playing even at a discount
Nice course - great layout
Played the Midlands and Highlands course both have very challenging and scenic layouts with lots of elevation changes. Tees and fairways in good shape, some of the greens on Highlands have a few issues, but overall OK. The sand traps are the nicest I have seen in a long time, beautifully sculptured with nice playing sand. Course has some nice added features, like the interlock brick cart path and large boulders by the path.
Great Value, for a Great Course
A challenging course with tight tree lines holes, made for a high risk, high reward day. Staff and facilities were fantastic. The greens were a bit beaten up on some holes, but that was the only negative. I'll definitely return.
One of our favourites
This course has always been one of our favourites. We would like to play it more often but the green fees are to much for us. We keep checking for deals since that is the only way we can afford to play here.
Thanks for noticing the coffee and muffins - we take them very seriously!
