Golfer Reviews
Interesting course
Fun course, responsible marshal, but no pull-cart is weird
Good Course at a Reasonable price
Played @ 11:30am on a Monday. Pace was good. Length & Layout was good.
Conditions good, but rough needs to be shorter to help finding balls.
Covid protocols
I shared a cart with someone i dont know. There were no dividers to seperate bith golfers. The starter or the cousre misinformed me that i was sharing a cart. I paid through golfnow and the round came with a cart. The golf course did not follow covid protocols. I ended up walking because the guy i was playing with was coughing and sneezing alot. I expect a full refund on this terrible experience. If golfnow can refund me , it would be appreciated !!
Unkept
After a month or so of lockdown you would expect the grass to be cut and the greens to be clean and in good condition. This was not the case, many greens were covered by Pine needles and the fairways had no second cut. The rough it 6 inches deep or more everywhere. Perhaps they figured that golfers would just accept whatever was given to them because they were happy to play.
Royal Stouville
The greens were slow and poorly maintained. The fairways were not cut the rough was very high. Considering they were closed down for 5 weeks you would think it would be in better shape. Decent low budget course found nothing Royal about at all.
Nice course poor amenities
Staff were friendly. The course was in pretty good condition. Easy to lose balls off the fairway. Amenities very run down. Lots of potential
The staff are friendly but the course is not.
I think the course is designed to be played from the white tees. Playing from the Blue tees, most tee boxes were set 20-50 yards back in the middle of a forest that doesn't even feel like you are on the same hole. The forest was thinly cut just for these boxes, so you better be able to keep your ball straight with your driver if you are going to play these tees. It felt like they were there just to have them and not meant to be played. The entire layout of the course is pretty bad. Most holes were pretty narrow and hard to figure out what was going on. One par 3 said there was like a 50 yard difference between the whites/ blues, but the boxes were side by side and if you had the blues all the way at the back and whites all the way at the front it would have made for about a 20 yard difference max. Distances in that case were way out of wack, saying the blues were 180 or something... hit my 8 iron (150) and was on the green just short of the pin. Nothing of any interest around the greens.
First time I played here I wasn't a big fan. Came back a year later and really made up my mind. I won't be going back.
