The Golf Club at Lora Bay

My favourite hole was #9. Playing down the fairway to Georgain Bay. Nice practice area with balls stacked in pyramids. Friendly staff.

Invited two friends to plan on July 4th. Range was good, start time was accurate and course played well. Good mix of challenging and "this looks easier" holes.

Great course. Staff super friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is the sandtraps are terrible. Be aware.

Great experience for the most part!!

Unfortunately during our round we found no cart girl until the 14th hole, and no water fountains in between, or water provided in the cart. The carts were fairly basic, no electronics or range finder, or a booklet to see the course it out. For what we paid I definitely expected a lot more.

Firstly Booking was a challenge, we increased from 4 to 6 golfers and I called the clubhouse who could only move three to a new time, and I had to do the other three online. The clubhouse only moved the 4some so we had 7 vs 6 tee spots, and my card was charged where I thought it was only holding the spots. The clubhouse would only give me a rain check for the extra tee time, and the conversation was very poor as they were not accepting any ownership in the error. Next was the bigger customer fail. The starter wouldn't give us carts until 30 min prior, despite us being there early to tee off. He stated it is since there are only 10 spots on the range. Eventually he agreed to let us go putt, but not after providing plenty of attitude. He also wouldn't let a cart go to the range until all golfers had arrived? The final fail was where one of my guests left his cell phone in the cart. We called at 8pm a few times but no one answered (despite sunset being 9:15pm. No one responded to our voicemail. When my guest went back the next morning one of the women in the pro shop said it was not there as all carts are cleared out. When my guest persisted a younger guy said we should double check the 4 carts that were on file, and not surprising it was there. The course acts as if it a high end private club well before it has arrived, they need to dial down the pretention.

They are not big on service or having sandwiches for their guests. Very bare bones. Layout was nice but not well kept for the money you pay. The bunkers were bare with muck or dried up - they tell you to take a free lift. This course should be $60 and no more. Bring your own food and water too. And they make you sign a bunch of paperwork to ride a golf cart. Would not go back or recommend.

Staff at bag drop were extremely rude.

Then tried to get a refund and was refused by pro.

Course was in great conditions considering the massive rain storm two days prior. We were disappointed that our evening was ruined by the pace of play by the group in front. We ended up skipping two holes(16/17) of the nine we played(walking by the groups) because of an eight some of ladies( believe one is a member) playing altogether. Tee off at 5pm, skipping 2 holes and still took 2.5 hours.
