The Golf Club at Lora Bay
About
Tucked away in the Blue Mountains, The Club at Lora Bay offers a stunning view of the Georgian Bay. The golf course was carved from the mature woodlands along the Nipissing Ridge, incorporating wildlife preserves and century-old barns into the design. The scenic course even features idyllic apple orchards along the fairways. While the rustic charm can be enchanting, don't let it distract you too much from the challenging layout. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed throughout and brooks and ponds come into play on several holes. The third hole is one of the toughest on the golf course. It is the longest par-3 with a pond that runs all along the right side from tee to green and trees and a tricky bunker to the left.

beautiful design
Mark Lehman, Thomas McBroom design. Terrific layout/design with 9 and 15 standing out visually. Greens hold approach shots, and putt true. Lots of opportunity for big scores if you stray from the fairway. Back to school creating staff shortages in restaurant and operating hours. have been reduced as a result Course is for Sale.... currently 60% of tee times are reserved for public cut that could change with ownership change,
Very challenging greens
A beautiful course with stunning views of Georgian Bay. Course is in excellent condition, other than the sand traps that definitely require work. The greens are extremely fast and very challenging.
Great course
Great course, in amazing condition however the greens were some of the fastest and hardest I have played, made it quite difficult.
Great Outing
Beautiful course. Unfortunate that the course was water logged and we were cart path only and the bunkers were unplayable. The starter and check in were both welcoming and informative.
Greens are way to unfair
Unfortunately the developers have taken an extremely picturesque course with great views of Georgian Bay and turned it into a housing development. Most holes have new builds on them which are very close to the fairways. That took much of the experience away. Then having to 3 putt almost every hole because the undulation of the greens was so extremely unfair made the decision to play this course again clear. I will not be returning, at least not this season. Golf should be challenging and fun not just challenging.
A course with a view!
Great course requiring lots of different shots. Staff was extremely engaging and helpful. Fun course design with amazing views. Can't wait to play it again.
A lot of money for not much
This was my first time at this course, and I brought some out of town guests who had never been to the area, but are experienced golfers. I wanted to impress them, so we splurged for this course. We were assigned a 4th player, which is rare, and somewhat impeded our girls weekend, but it was fine. The biggest issue was that the beverage snack cart only came around once, after our first hole. We were STARVING and parched, and would have appreciated another visit or two. I called the clubhouse at the 11th hole asking for the cart to pay us a visit, but we never saw it. Luckily we brought our own water, and we aren't diabetic, or we would have been in trouble. No need for any of us to return to this $$$ course.
Lora Bay Golf
Beautiful course next to Georgian Bay. Very challenging layout. Fairways in great shape. However during my round greens were aerated and top dressed making the greens more difficult to putt. Overall a beautiful course and lots of fun to play.
Loved the course. Pace of play was horrible the day we played put that’s not the courses fault. They were very good at addressing it with the slow groups. The only frustrating part was the lack of visible yardage markers. Having them laying flat in the ground makes them very hard to see! Without a range finder you’re left guessing.
Weekend at Lora Bay
Carts should have GPS and score card should show course hole lagout and yardage at the price being charged. Additionally ball and club cleaners on the carts were all leaking and not water was in them. At this price the carts should be in much better shape.
Fantastic - but no drink cart service?
Course was is in great shape. Greens were slightly slow but we played later in the day, so maybe that’s to be expected.
Reception at pro shop was nice and starter was informative and friendly. We teed off at 3:20 and had a group of 3 in front. They played very fast and pace of play was awesome. We finished in 3 hours and 50 minutes! Fantastic!
My only complaint - It was about 29C and humid. Drink cart came on 2nd hole and we bought some beers. Then it came again on the 4th hole and said that’s it for the night. They shut the drink cart down at 4.00pm. They did ask us if we wanted anything else so that was good. Maybe I should have tipped bigger when I bought the first round. But I thought closing down drink service at 4.00 pm on a super hot day was a little offside.
Other than this minor complaint it was an awesome day. Course was in great shape, we got to hit some practice balls at the range at no extra cost, and the pace of place was great. One other thing - partly due to the surrounding community, and the clientele it serves, Lora Bay has that private club feel, even though it isn’t. It’s really nice.
I will be back as Lora Bay is awesome in the fall.
