The Golf Club at Lora Bay

Pace of play was very slow. Never saw a Marshall and never saw a beverage cart despite 30 degree weather. Course in good condition and some very nice holes of golf. For the price of $92 per player was way too high for this course compared to other courses in the area at $50 with a 3:40 pm start on a weekday

Really nice track, lots of tee options, tough but playable. Highly recommend

Fairways a little shaggy and bunkers poor with little sand

Course was in great shape however I found the sand in the bunkers was compacted/hard and greens were very fast. Very nice track to play overall

Played Lora Bay about 7-8 times over the last few years. Greens were punched up and inconsistent. This information should be posted on the website so people know what they are paying for. I understand the circumstances and I sympathize with the golf industry, but taking advantage of people by charging high season rates for spring rate golf conditions is wrong.

Enjoyed this course before and was looking forward to playing again. The conditions were tough with a lot of wind. There were also a number of slow groups in front of us that looked to be together. That was frustrating and they only started to pick up the pace once the Marshall spoke to them on the 14th hole. Too late at that point.

Honestly for $120 in mid October I was not overly impressed. Cart path only and only select fairways were wet - no discount. No sand in the bunkers Is not acceptable at this price point regardless of Covid etc.

Course layout and conditions other than bunkers were good.

I’ll. Be back to give it a second chance - hope it’s better next year.

Great colours and a great course. Fall golf at Lora Bay is excellent.

Played 18 yesterday on a cool-ish fall day.

The good: As others have said, some of the scenic views are outstanding. Conditions were generally fantastic. Greens are fast and undulating — poor placement of your approach shot above the hole will, on some greens, make it impossible to hit your putt soft enough to not roll off the front. Great variety of holes. Many large bunker complexes on almost every hole. Every staff member we dealt with (cart park, starter, pro shop, beverage cart) were courteous & friendly. Plenty of COVID precautions set up throughout the clubhouse area.

The not-as-good: Though it’s a very nice track, my playing partner & I both felt it was JUST A HAIR overpriced for the rack rate — look for online or coupon book deals. The putting green is huge and immediately makes you realize that speed and undulations will be a factor BUT we all found the putting green was faster than many of the greens on the course. The bunkers are of course not up to snuff but I don’t consider it a legitimate factor, given the COVID protocols that have to be in place — their bunkers were no worse or better than anyone else’s these days.

Yes there’s some new construction going on (the course is part of a larger development) but it only REALLY grabs you on maybe 2 or 3 holes; otherwise you’re insulated from it. Having played on several courses with incorporated residential developments, both here and in the US, Lora Bay is one of the better examples I’ve seen.
