The Golf Club at Lora Bay
About
Tucked away in the Blue Mountains, The Club at Lora Bay offers a stunning view of the Georgian Bay. The golf course was carved from the mature woodlands along the Nipissing Ridge, incorporating wildlife preserves and century-old barns into the design. The scenic course even features idyllic apple orchards along the fairways. While the rustic charm can be enchanting, don't let it distract you too much from the challenging layout. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed throughout and brooks and ponds come into play on several holes. The third hole is one of the toughest on the golf course. It is the longest par-3 with a pond that runs all along the right side from tee to green and trees and a tricky bunker to the left.

Very nice course
The course was in excellent shape but understandably wet. We had carts but cart path only. So basically walked! Not a big deal but was a little tiring and frustrating to get out to the Ballard find out you have the wrong club!
Would highly recommend this course!
Too windy
The course played long due to wet conditions. Cart path only slowed the pace of play.
Course Deserves to Be Allowed to Dry
Lora Bay is a very nice layout. However, with all the rain we've had a better decision would be to have allowed this course to drain and dry for another week before subjecting it to play. It was great to get out, but courses need to have better judgment in when to open.
LORA BAY
The staff were very friendly and helpfully , The food was exceptionall, and our server Simon was by far the best experience we had all day. The course. Was in great shape But we were restricted to cart path golf due to heavy rainfall overnight. All areas of the course were in great shap, and the greens had just been aerated but still were very playable and very fast.Great job to
all the staff, and again exceptionall sevice from our server
bucket list
this course has been on my bucket list since opening. I was not disappointed even though the weather did not cooperate....really a long and challenging course..
I loved it!!
I have never played a course with so many bunkers before.
I will come back
Course Marshall Needs To Keep The Groups Moving
Lora Bay is a good test of your game with some great holes and interesting challenges. The bunkers are numerous and well positioned though I'm not sure why they have long, deep ( two foot) grass surrounding some of them.
The most annoying part of the experience was the slow play of the group in front of us who were at a course that was too difficult for them especially when they insisted on playing the wrong tees. There were several holes open in front of them and a backup of several groups behind them waiting at every tee. This turned our usual four hour round into almost six hours on a cloudy Thursday afternoon. Marshals need to be more involved at this course.
Nice!
I was fortunate to be paired with a couple of very friendly and accommodating members who made it quite an enjoyable round. Staff were also welcoming and professional.
Course is challenging with lot of bunkers in the fairways and around the greens. Fast greens with tough pin placements on day I played. Great view of the lake on some holes especially on the second shot on the 9th hole. Excellent patio for drinks after the round. Green fee a bit pricey if you’re paying regular rack rate.
beautiful course big disappoinment
Heard so much about the course. Could'n't wait to play. Difficult getting a tee time. Met one of the course pros on the range. Very nice and informative. All downhill from there. Starter was rude eager for me to tee off even though the group ahead was standing in the fairway. Young man at bag drop called me dude. Not very helpful or professional.. Great layout but the greens were terrible. Caught the group ahead at ten tee. 3 hrs 50 mins to play back nine. Do not pay full price $115 not worth it. I was upset and paid $75 plus tax. too many courses in the area to play. NO customer service. Close to 90 degrees out and saw the cart girl once. Very obvious this course caters to the members.
Lora bay
course conditions have deteriorated over time. Not as well conditioned as it was the last time I played it.
Consistent
Lora Bay is always in consistently good condition and an enjoyable course to play. The greens were in excellent condition as usual but the sand traps were in their normal poor condition. We gave the bunkers a pass today due to heavy rains recently.
The back patio overlooking the 18th is a great place to replay the round over a pint of Steihl.
Beautiful Lora Bay
Fabulous course, with big, fast greens, beautiful views and clubhouse, very friendly staff. I'd highly recommend this course.
A stunning view of Georgian Bay while having your cocktail after a day on the course
Friendly staff, course was in great shape, pace of play was great, I find golf is expensive so when you can get a deal you are more likely to play more, The ninth hole is pretty, you are hitting towards the Bay.
Great layout…bunkers could use some attending too
Marshals must of had day off…couldn’t be found…5 hr round
Challenging and Beautiful scenery
Enjoyed a round with a group of friends and were quite pleased with the course conditions considering it's May.
Never Disappoints
Spectacular views of Georgian Bay if you take the time to look up from the well laid out course before you. Long and fair back tees played easier today with no wind to speak of. No blind shots here, just many well placed bunkers to catch wayward balls. We will definitely make the two hour drive again to play this beauty.
Lora bay in a nutshell
I'm a good 9 from N.Ireland. booked this course as it looked nice from photos on website. The clubhouse is amazing. Staff not friendly (quite surprised) but sure it's a retirement town so probably not a place for a not wealthy golfer like me. Course layout bad as they have houses lining up fareways. I played the Black tees and shot 5 over so not very tough. Lots of bunkers. I Was 1 over par through 8 then I hit traffic. It took me over 4 hours playing alone.....way too slow (considering I played the first 8 in just under an hour. My advice? Don't tee off at 2:10pm like I did. They had a man starting golfers in the first tee but no Marshall to reinforce slow play. Too dear too slow. I've played better managed courses.
