The Golf Club at Lora Bay
About
Tucked away in the Blue Mountains, The Club at Lora Bay offers a stunning view of the Georgian Bay. The golf course was carved from the mature woodlands along the Nipissing Ridge, incorporating wildlife preserves and century-old barns into the design. The scenic course even features idyllic apple orchards along the fairways. While the rustic charm can be enchanting, don't let it distract you too much from the challenging layout. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed throughout and brooks and ponds come into play on several holes. The third hole is one of the toughest on the golf course. It is the longest par-3 with a pond that runs all along the right side from tee to green and trees and a tricky bunker to the left.

Fun, scenic course with great staff and amenities
Lora Bay is a must play in the Blue Mountains. Awesome views of Georgian Bay, although the wind coming off the bay can make a few holes a challenge!
Always in phenomenal shape and a great layout. Lots of fun holes, especially 15. The approach shot on 9 might is one of my fav shots on the Niagara Escarpment.
There’s a reason Gretzky has held his tournament here in the past. Check out this track if you’ve yet to make it here for a round.
Beautiful Layout
Lora Bay has been on my radar to play for sometime. This course was in excellent condition for the 1st of May even thought the greens had been aerated and were a slow.
The staff were extremely friendly with the started being especially good in assisting with local knowledge and recommendations on the tees we should play from.
Due to the time of year we were restricted to cart path only that made VERY long walks at times, but it didn't deter from an excellent day.
Definitely come back to Lora Bay and will keep it on my list of locals to frequent.
A Must Play
I'm giving this course a 4.5 star. The greens are fast a pure. Well maintained. Very nice practice area. Some spectacular views. I actually stopped on the 9th hole because I needed to take a picture. Two negatives for this course, 1) it's pricey and 2) the bunkers are very inconsistent. All the staff were very friendly and the food in the clubhouse was delicious. I don't care for the tee shot on the par 5 16th, takes some local knowledge to know how far to hit you tee shot. A beautiful drive may be too much. Careful. Also, hole 2 got me, very difficult tee shot and approach. Overall the course is fabulous and I'd recommend you try it. It was a bit pricey for me but it was a great experience.

Great course, great price, great time! Even played well!!
Great views, challenging holes
9th hole dog left, when come around corner elevated green with Nottawasaga Bay background, 16th tee elevated to green in valley, 17th par3 requires accuracy, otherwise lost ball guaranteed. Excellent value with golfnow discount.
A top quality course in every way. Pro-shop staff got us out quickly.
We arrived early and were allowed on course as soon as first tee was available. We really enjoyed this course. Will look forward to next game here.
Many elevation changes, very beautiful
Pace of play was fantastic. Rare to see other golfers from your fairway. The landscape was pristine and very challenging from the middle tee blocks. Greens were large and rolling. Only complaint was the bunker sand was hard. I played the course twice and regret not booking the same place the 3rd day. Don't miss this gem if visiting Collingwood area.
A lovely course in great condition.
Lora Bay is a well laid out course in a beautiful setting. Holes are challenging but fair. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The course was in excellent shape when we played there.
A great course and one of my favorites!
I have always enjoyed Lora bay. Great variety of holes and wonderful architecture. Very well maintained, great vistas and excellent service!!
great
Second time there, loved the first. sorry to be rained out the second.
The course has spectacular view and in great condition
Really enjoyed the design of the course. Some holes are quite challenging with lots of sand traps - unless you play like a pro, not likely you will escape sand play. I played the Cobalt position throughout the game which is right for me. The Black will be a very challenging game for some. The views are spectacular and walking is not too difficult.
Definitely love to go back before the end of season.
Course Needs Marshals
Everything course condition related was as previously reviewed. The course is in great condition, greens were without flaw. This is the second time I've been there to play Lora Bay this year. It was a 5 hr round the first time we went, and I thought maybe we just caught them on a busy day. However with a repeat the second time of slow course play, I realized that there is an absents of course marshals. The foursome in from of us were taking ridiculously long on every hole, and there was 4 unoccupied holes in front of them. We quit after 16 holes due to darkness as we were already 4.5hrs to this point. Following this group, we witnessed horseplay such as them squealing tires with hard breaking in the golf cart every hole on cart paths, and ignoring the cart signs and driving well within the boundaries to each green. But without proper supervision of all its patrons, even fine courses like Lora Bay are susceptible to poor behavior and golf etiquette.
Beautiful course. Challenging and a pleasure to play.
A very enjoyable course to play. Lots of bunkers keep you challenged. Great course for both the long and short game. Will to play this course again. On my favorites list.
A 'must play' for anyone visiting the Collingwood area.
Depending upon which tees you pick, this course can be as fun or challenging as you like. I consider it a 'must play' whenever I am in the area. With a good variety of holes, including some very scenic ones, the course is a joy to play. The only negative, if it can be considered a negative, was that the greens were a bit slow and furry for my taste. However, I played late in the day.
beautiful views of the water
Played Lora Bay September 6/13. Had played there several years ago when the course first opened. It has matured very nicely. The course was in great shape. The greens are very tricky to read. Putts that look like they should break stay fairly straight. The bunkers are deep with fescue grass bordering them. Stay away from them at all cost or its a short shot out to get back in play. Booked it on GolfNow for $45.00. Regular fee on Friday was $135.00 so that was a great deal!
Unbelievably spectacular golf course!
Club selection was equalled by which picturesque vista to take photo of with Golflogix GPS feature. I've had the privilege to play a round in Maui. Lora Bay could very well be the most spectacular course I've ever played on. Too bad I can ONLY rate it a 5 out of 5! It is also the most challenging course I've played.
Thank you Golf Now!
Laura Bay
The course was in good shape and had lovely views of Georgian Bay. There was a number of tee boxes to allow for players of all abilities. The clubhouse was a first class layout with ecellent meal options There were lots of sand traps in the landing zones and approaching the greens.
course need's more yardage marker's or gps on the cart.
course was basically unplayable because of the extreme rough.course clearly cutting cost's and not grass.
Georgian Bay Beauty !!!!
Found a great deal on golf now.com 43.88 per person, what a deal for this course. More importunely it was my 14 year old son's third time on a big course,he loved it !!! what a way to end the summer!!!! My son cant wait to get out again and with the deals on golf now.com I can afford too.
Great course
The bunkers and greens need to be kept in better condition.
More sand in bunkers and faster greens cutt a little shorter in order to eliminate bumpiness.
