The Golf Club at Lora Bay
About
Tucked away in the Blue Mountains, The Club at Lora Bay offers a stunning view of the Georgian Bay. The golf course was carved from the mature woodlands along the Nipissing Ridge, incorporating wildlife preserves and century-old barns into the design. The scenic course even features idyllic apple orchards along the fairways. While the rustic charm can be enchanting, don't let it distract you too much from the challenging layout. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed throughout and brooks and ponds come into play on several holes. The third hole is one of the toughest on the golf course. It is the longest par-3 with a pond that runs all along the right side from tee to green and trees and a tricky bunker to the left.

Great Overall
The condition of the course was great, except for the bunkers yet to be finished. That is expect. Once complete it will be super. Good layout, switching 1 & 10 good idea.
We tried to order before teeing off, service was very slow. We left before ordering. The server was to overwhelmed, Show have somewhere to get something at the turn i.e., halfway house or counter.
An all round great experience
Myself and a friend played this course as part of a Canadian Open green fee special. The price for the round was great with that deal.
We arrived early so we could grab a bite to eat in the clubhouse. Our lunch was wonderful and the staff were great!
The golf was also great. We had a slow group in front of us and nobody from the course really around to help manage pace of play with them.
Conditions were good for the beginning of the season. Will be keeping my eye out for any other specials that come up for this course.
Pace of play
Pace of play was good until the group behind decided to leapfrog us by skipping the 9th hole leaving us waiting on every shot. Not the clubs fault.
Fix the traps!
Most of the course is in pretty good shape but lots of the sand traps have been completed abandoned and are not maintained in any way. They say they are renovating all the traps but they were saying this last year when the traps were also terrible. If they're going to fix the traps then fix them. For $150 per player the course should have addressed this issue long ago.
Very nice layout, challenging but fair
With the weird weather this spring, the upgrades and repairs made over the off season still have to settle in. Greens were running a little slow, bunkers still had the edging in early June, and some bunkers scattered throughout the course didn’t have sand - rather, compacted dirt that you just had to lift the ball out of if you ended up in there. Come summertime, these minor things should be addressed.
The layout is quite nice, and rewards accurate shots as much as it punishes anything less than. Having played it a couple of times, I think if you have an accurate 170-180 yard club, given the length of the par 4s and some 3s, you’ll need it on several holes either to approach the green or to knock it on the Par 3s. But that’s obviously just my opinion.
Staff are super friendly and helpful which is always a great start to a round. Carts are GPS enabled with the essential features you expect from most courses. Haven’t dined there yet, but heard good things so far in 2024.
For a water view course, it’s a beautiful track to spend a few hours. The pace of play was hampered by the weather in both days I played as the jokers called Weather Experts didn’t really help either.
Definitely recommend playing here and enjoy the small town apres golf.
Great course
Great place to play…….renovated and new bunkers look great…..pace of play is fantastic…staff are super friendly……everything was great
Beautiful course in Northern Ontario
Great course with lots of potential.
Sand traps need some work for sure. Greens and fairways were decent enough.
Someone needs to cover up the old hole marks on the rocks. Looks unprofessional.
For a course with this kind of value for a round, I would
Definitely work on some of these things.
Clubhouse is stunning, great work on that.
We will come again but these things should be addressed.
cart path only
We were told the course was very wet and it was cart path only. The course was dry as a bone. There was also a lot of the course under repair making cart path only very difficult.
For the cost charged this course at the time was very over priced. Not worth the value
Course needs some work
Course was in poor condition. Some traps not been touched this year or even longer. Despite a wet spring, some dry spots. Whole course needs work on keeping it in better shape, especially for the price of green fees charged. Staff were excellent. Course design is vert good.
