About
Set along the Rio Grande River, this is a scenic course with spectacular views. The front nine was built in 1987, and the back nine followed in 1992. The highlight of the course is what is perhaps the longest water hazard in Texas, the Rio Grande River, which flows along holes 5 through 13 on the left side of the fairway.
Narrow fairways and grass bunkers make the course tough, especially when the wind is howling, as it is tough to hit the small, firm greens. Water is everywhere. No. 14 is the only hole without water. The par 3 17th hole, with its island greens, headlines a series of demanding par 3 holes. The last hole plays 434 yards into the wind and has out-of-bounds on either side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Harlingen take Hwy. 77 south. When you come to Hwy. 802 turn right, then continue until you reach Hwy 281. Turn right again and drive approximately 2.5 miles to the course

Great features, but slow play due to 5 somes being allowed to play! Unfortunate! Advised ranger of the situation and that they wouldn’t even let us play through as a twosome and he said it was up to management. Too bad. Nice course.

Course play courteousy
Great course to play and enjoy! As one plays the course, you cannot help but notice how some players disrespect the course by not leaving the course as nice as they found it! By not repairing green divots and driving through wet areas leaving cart ruts, one can destroy what course employees work so hard to maintain! We all should accept the responsibility to leave a golf course as nice as we find it or better! Thank you!!

Good value for what you pay.
The greens were in good shape. The tee boxes were pretty level but could do with some water. The same goes for the fairways. A relatively interesting course to play. No two holes look alike. Had fun playing this course.

Great value, 3 hour 50 minute round, greens in good winter shape! Not a long course but the par 3a are long and tough!
