Legacy Course - Signature Par 3 8th Hole Photo submitted by u862699574 on 06/25/2019
Played the newer course at Woodington Lakes. Did not like the way the cart path/waste bunker idea. Unreasonable to play from with carts driving in them all day.
You would not want to walk this course.
Been a While
Good price. Great pace. Nice staff.
Course itself was a little plain. We played the Legacy, but will definitely play the Legend next time.
Layout was a little quirky, I don't think I've played so many dog legs the whole year. Couldn't tell if we were driving the cart on the path or the waste bunkers, of which there were many. There are allot of sand traps however many would never come into play, but when you did land in one, they were hard as a rock, hadn't been turned over in a long time. L:ike I said, next time I will try the Legacy,
Woodington Lake
Course was in good condition and a good level of difficulty for me. Really enjoyed the layout. Only problem was that we had booked the 6:18pm tee time for 18 holes and obviously knew we would have to go fast before it got dark. However when we arrived they asked if we were only doing 9 holes. When I said we booked for 18, they said we wouldn't be able to finish 18 and had to be back at the club house at 8:30 sharp because it would be dark and they had to wash the carts. We knew it would not be dark until 9ish. We practically ran through and finished all 18 by 8:30 and sure enough it was still plenty bright out. I would have no issues not finishing the round if it got dark, but having to be back with plenty of light was rather annoying.
Woodington review
Course was very wet, which is understandable given the amount of rain over the past weeks.
Overall wasn't a bad round, course was quiet and our 4 some flew through the round. Only real complaint was the amount of grass clippings all over the course. Price was a little high for the experience, we paid $55 per player.
Sand Trap conditions terrible
Overall nice course but it obviously suffers from drainage issues. It has been wet here but not as poor as conditions indicated.
Also bunkers were all unplayable, not raked or otherwise wet. There is no excuse for grounds crew not raking bunkers three days after it rained.
Lightly played course, greens nice but too slow for decent players.
After golf conditions superb.
But on the whole enjoyable day.
Great course
I had played the other course legends 15 years ago. Wanted to try the new course it was a very good course. The greens were a bit slow but most courses greens are not up to full speed yet. Being a new course it still needs to maturame a bit. But all in all a very nice golf course a good test of golf and any wind makes it that much tougher. Will definitely go back
Very nice as expected
Had a round on May 10, 2017.
Weather was OK even though it was a little chilly.
There are wet areas here and there because of the continuous rain past weeks.
Green condition is pretty good but it is a little soft and slow which is understandable.
Open Layout, tough when its windy
First time driving up to this course and it was worth it. This course has 2 18s, and this is the newer of the 2. It was about a 4 - 5 minute drive to the first tee from the clubhouse! Course is an open layout, "links" style, and it was in great shape. every hole has waste bunkers lining fairways which double as the cart paths. Greens were undulated and fast. We played from the blue tees, perfect for my dad but would be fun playing from further back. It was really windy and most of the front and back nine holes seem to play into the wind. On a different note, this course is a "cashless" course, debit and credit card only! that includes the beer carts, which we saw every few holes which was a nice change compared to other courses i play.
Challenge Met
Lots of contour on greens and tough pins made this a fun day. Price was great value. Always love seeing the beautiful swans. Cannot wait to hit it again.
