great day of golf
It was a great day of golfing. Got to the course and carts are ready for us . Checked in and everyone is very friendly and helpfull. Course was in good shape for the time of year. Only complaint I would have is the pace of play was a little slow but other than that all was good. I would tell friends to golf there.
The Silo Rocks
I had the best round of my LIFE!! Course was in great shape for early season. Greens were quite playable, flat and true. They were a little slower than mid season form. I played from the silver tees which is just right for me.
excellent fairways
this course has excellent fairways, great helpful staff and was a joy to play
Play This Course
If you want a course that will let you use every club in the bag, this is it. Several club choices off of the tee and tricky pin placements on this day offered added challenges. Wide fairways, narrow fairways, fescue and plenty of collection areas around half of the greens. Greens rolled well for an early October morning. Enjoyed being paired up with some members who gave me many local tips.
Golf Now Bargain
$10 with cart for 18 holes...how could anyone complain. By far the nicest course in the area.
Nice Course WIth Disappointments
We played on Oct 18th and had a very nice sunny but cool day. When we got out to the starter at the first hole, we were informed that it was "cart path only" and when asked if there was a refreshment cart on the course, the answer was no but there was a half-way house. For the most part the fairways were dry so found it frustrating that we had to keep the carts on the fairway and secondly, when we got finished our 9th hole, the halfway house was closed. So, although we enjoyed our round, these two issues negatively impacted our overall experience.....
Great Course
Grey Silo is a great golf course. It's very well maintained for both fairway and green. Plus, it's very good management.
Great Course
Grey Silo along with Rebel Creek are the Crown Jewels of the Golf North courses Pretty autumn colors and beautifully manicured greens and fairways make this difficult layout a pleasant experience Pro shop and refreshment staff were very friendly. The marshaling and guest services staff take themselves a little too seriously compared to other Golf North venues
Tough enough from the Silvers (Whites)
Beautiful track nestled in river valley with plenty of environmentally sensitive areas. Particularly tough on slicers.
Great Challenge!
The course was in great shape despite heavy rain the night before. Very challenging course that rewards accuracy in shots.
Well conditioned course, friendly staff.
The course was in great shape. The greens were a little slow & fuzzy but the area was hit with heavy rain the day before so perhaps not cut on the day of play. Other than that it was a very good experience.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful layout, course is in excellent condition. I would highly recommend this course, and hope to play here again soon.
Nice course, rough shape
Played here sept. 1. Beautiful course, but it looks like they've been pounding people through in order to capitalize on the last year of the LPGA tournament being there, the greens and tee blocks were scarred up, ball marks and scuffs galore and a bunch of club marks on greens, I guess from missed putts. Some of the bunkers were pretty hardpan as well.
Major complaint is the two guys in front of us who had clearly been over-served by the course and were playing not playing at a decent pace. Despite there being several marshalls out on the course, none of them said anything or sped them up.
Also didn't get my free hat.
Challenging Course!
Course is in great shape. You must constantly plan your way around, to avoid the hazards. Avoid the fairway bunkers at all costs! They are very deep, and penal. You will lose a shot at least, if you end up in one!
Great greens and fairways
The course was in really good conditions with nice fast greens and very green fairways. It was a pretty challenging course especially if you hit it into the rough, that's where you will get yourself into trouble.
Nice Course, great price
I enjoyed playing grey silo. I like the course layout. It cost $52 on golf now with a cart which I thought was a great value. The only downside was that some of the greens weren't in very good shape.
Thursday afternoon golf
We had a wonderful round of golf when matched up with a couple of younger men. Pace of play was good and course was in pretty good shape. I would have expected the bunkers to have better sand considering the course has hosted a major tournament.
great layout
Way to slow for this course it took over 5.5 hrs to play, should be under 4 hours for our handicap
Great Course!!
What a course!! Played on a Saturday afternoon and was a little worried it might be slow but the course manages the times and groups well and it keeps everyone on track without feeling hassled.
The course was amazing, I've played several in KW and this is hands down the best one in the region.
Greens were in fantastic shape, carpet like fairways and overall the course was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back again.
Not a top class course
This course is not worth the money you pay. There are far more challenging courses for far less money in the Kitchener/Waterloo are,
