Great track
Really nice course. Well kept and challenging. Greens were quick even after a big storm in the AM. Would suggest hitting the hybrid off the tee on the back nine in some spots to avoid trouble. Great value. Worth the 1 hour drive from Toronto.
Enjoyable round
Greens were a little spotty fro ball marks, other than that very nice golf course. Play it if you get the chance!!
Always a nice round at Grey Silo
My only complaint was that it was mowing time and every hole we were on was being mowed. Like there was at least 2 going on each hole, so it wasn't the quiet round you hope for at grey silo. And the tee boxes weren't setup because of the mowing.
WORTH A GAME TO PLAY THERE
I had seen this course on TV and I always wanted to give it a try. It was worth the wait to finally get there. The course was fun to play with lots of sites and the condition was good except for excessive non-fixed ball marks on the greens. Probably because they are so soft the marks don't get fixed properly but still good to putt on and very receptive. From the back tees there are a number of holes that demand good tee shots.
I enjoyed it and would go back again.
Great condition
It had just rained that morning....which made the greens perfect for choosing the right club for the distance and getting the ball to react on the greens.
Pace of play was good for a Sunday outing!!
Would go back to play again if the price was inline better. Golfnow featured a hot deal which suited the course perfect at 50 plus tax including cart
Great Day!
We played as a twosome, early on a Friday. Weather was spectacular, and we wanted to play the course following the Manulife Classic LPGA event, and we were not disappointed. The course is in great shape, the greens quick and true and tees / fairways are in very good shape. We were lucky with a hot deal as well!
Go Play!
Decided last minute to look for tee time. Weather was perfect and was fortunate to play with 3 others who were very friendly and near my skill level.
Only complaint was the threesome ahead was painfully slow, retook shots, looked too long for balls in the long grass and the marshall did not ask them to speed it up. LPGA played here the past 3 years. Go test your skill & try to equal them:)
Lots of tricky greens, generous fairways and a real test if the prevailing winds are present. As well, the scenery is spectacular, lots of wildlife to admire, especially nice if your game is "off" that day.
If you put your ego and driver away, play for position, you can score well. Make sure you putt on the practice green before your round. It is a perfect duplicate of things to come out on the course.
Beautiful natural settings
The course was in great shape and the holes were challenging yet fair. It was our first time playing it and we came from Burlington. Navigating the hwy 7 and 8 east /west signs, especially home bound was tricky but that's City if Waterloo (they should have a few more 401 signs in with the 7West signs). Well worth the drive though!
grey silo
Good course but has been in below average shape since the lpga was there. It's always a long round when at grey silo so don't expect a fast round. Staff is always super friendly and helpful.
KW's best
An excellent course for the price. Home to the LPGA this year, this course can challenge the best while being reasonable for all golfers with the wide range in tee selection. Although it is not an old course, the design is excellent, and it is sure to grow into a beauty. Unfortunately, as is true with most middle to low end courses in Ontario, the plentiful traps are filled with a sand more suited to construction than golf, and a player is typically forced to 'pick the ball from the surface, as a true sand shot is not really possible on the dense material. This course is among the best of public courses in the area, and priced far more reasonably than the courses East and South.
Awesome Course
Greens were fast. Plenty of hazards. Tried out many of the sand traps(not by choice). I considered myself as a good ball control player until I played this course. Will definitely play here again next time I'm in the Kitchener area.
looked good to a point
wife and I enjoyed what we saw of the course, unfortunately we were under a deluge by the sixth hole and had to call it a day
Very playable
Played 3 weeks after the LPGA and the course was great. The greens were fast and true, no bad lies and saw a marshal on almost every hole.
This course has a great look to it.
Great condition along with great scenic links style gives this course the look of a first class course, which it is. The staff are very friendly and courteous.
Would highly recommend this course to anyone who enjoys golf at its finest.
excellent course
This is the first time that we golfed this course and it was a great experience (except the slow foursome in front of us).. The ranger did indicate that we could play through or replay the front nine but we were not in a rush.. (we were enjoying each hole).. We saw a deer, beaver and groundhog.. I would highly recommend this course..
only easy for the LPGA! pros
Excellent, doable as often as time and money allows. don't pretend you can play it off the Black tees, great challange off the Golds
Great tract...You better know how to hit it straight
Wonderfull staff, very accommadating....super course, scenic and tough .....need a cart for sure...big distances between some tees
Short but challenging
Very nice course, had a great time. Will definitely be back again. But lose the Pepsi! Bring in Coke!
