great course
after seeing the LPGA play here I wanted to play it.
Did not disappoint.
Excellent course
Great value on golf now, although an 8:06 t time has first couple of holes playing into the morning sun causing difficulty tracking your ball, will diffently play again, worth the hour drive from Brampton .
Ok - good at the sale price
The greens, tee blocks and fairways were in great shape. Was a little disappointed with the sand and the rough. Some of the rough was very overgrown with crab grass and made it difficult to play out of - I know stay short and not a problem. Biggest problem was the pace of play. We were waiting every block for the next group to go. At one point on the back we had three groups backed up. Not sure why the holdup but this is unacceptable. We got off a little before 4 and were well after 8:30 playing poor light conditions. Not sure why the holdup - didn't get a heads up from the marshals about the delays and they didn't seem to be worried. Not sure if I will come back in the near future because of.
Worst greens
The greens were comparable to a ma and pa golf course... Putting was frustrating might have had better luck putting in the parkinglot
since lpga, all has changed
ive been three times before. always good time.
this time we were 4, behind a threesome. our worst score on the card was 89. yet, we were harassed numerous time to keep up with the group of 3 in front.
was always a great time at grey silo, but, now, we all say we'll never go back.
price has gone up, course quality has gone down and staff has let the lpga go to their heads
Grey Silo
Course was in great shape, only issue would be that the greens were aerated a week and a half before so they didn't play too well. Wish they had mentioned that when booking. Had a threesome in front who really slowed the pace, but the marshals kept addressing it which was nice.
2nd round at Grey Silo
Second time playing this course. One year ago, dry, sunny mid-day game. This time, 7:45 tee time on a very wet course (after days of rain). The 1st few holes a challenge tracking the ball while the sun burned off the fog. It is important to know the course layout as blind shots result in challenges if you select the wrong club. Very fast greens, even when they are wet. Recent aeration of greens resulted in putting challenges as well.
This scenic course is well maintained, challenging and a a fun to play.

Aeration
Was looking forward to playing this course with my son and father. Prior to arriving I was telling my son how challenging and fast the greens can be. Imagine my dismay when I discovered the practice green was shaggy and aerated. The starter confirmed all greens were aerated a few days earlier. No mention of this on the Golfnow site - I am pretty sure this normally shows up.
Grey Silo is always in great condition and, the greens notwithstanding, same thing during our round. Pace of play was very good - we only waited a few times and rarely held up the 3some behind us.
I will return but will definitely call ahead to confirm greens condition.
again
we are from out of town and try to play this course at least once a year. last year, we booked with golf now when we got to the course, we found out that the greens had been aerated. what luck, bad, this year same thing. golf now has got to relay this info to their customers.
Greens aerated
Only one issue with the course but it's big.... Greens were aerated the day before we played it. There was no mention of this when booking through Golf Now... Overall the course is a great track. Just disappointing when we arrive and find out the greens are basically unplayable.
Love at first tee
Absolutely fabulous course. Great for all golfers of any handicap.
very nice
Every hole was fun to play, greens still had a lot of spots from the LPGA event, didn't effect things much.overall outstanding, play it if you get the chance. Don't walk
Grey Silo Golf Course - Outstanding condition
Played Grey Silo on July 26/14 after not having played there for several years since GolfNorth took over. Happy to say that the course was in better shape than I can ever remember and is start to mature into a dynamite layout. For a public course greens were above average. We were able to get on through GolfNow at around $85.00 including cart and LPGA Event Cap. Very good value at that rate. Would play it regularly if I live closer. Give it a shot!!
Great Course and Value for your money
Booked on golf.com. Great value and rate for a Sunday. Great course with enough challenges to make it interesting. Recommend this course to anyone who lives in the Waterloo area.
Grey Silot
Great conditions. Pace was not bad but a littoe slow. Greens were running really quick. Off back tees, the par 4's arre challenging unless you hit drive over 250.
Grey Silo, first time
Really enjoyed this GolfNorth property.
defintely coming back
Championship Layout
Course has legitimate Country Club attributes. Course was in Imaculate condition from Tee to Green. Plenty of challenge from all tee boxes. Do not try and play this course if you are a new to golf player. Also , not suitable for walking ; i.e. must take a power cart. Lots of traps[i found most of them] . Sand is clean and well maintained , but not overly deep..Treat yourself , at least once a year, even if it costs $50-$75 for the round..
Out of the Ordinary
I've played the Silo before and always enjoy this track. It's wide fairways make it very forgiving for errant tee shots and its greens challenge you to be on your putting game. The only down-side to this round was about a one hour delay / wait for our pre-booked tee time - due to a tournament and having to endure a group of enebriated shirtless golfers who refused to leave the 1st tee until one of the marshalls intervened.
Hole-In-One !
I got my first Hole-In-One on the 2nd hole. This course is very challenging and in great shape! I recommend you take a little time at the practice green because the greens are fast & in excellent shape! I've been wanting to play this course for quite some time now and glad I did. I look forward to playing this course again!
Very nice course
This is a very nice course, tees to greens in very good shape except for work being done on 9 & 10. Very nice tee boxes & greens, although greens not too challenging. Sand traps are well placed and are in play on many holes. Found 16 & 18 tricky - course knowledge valuable on these 2 holes. The course is pretty wide open with wide fairways.
