About
Alsatian GC is an 18-hole with water in play. Front side fairly open and flat, almost links type play. Hole 2 surrounded by waterways and bunkers. Back side is hilly and has lots of trees. Super finishing hole with a tree in center of uphill fairway.
Throughout the course you will find challenging and beautiful fairways lined with trees and Spanish Dagger. The course also offers distance wedge game range, practice bunkers, three-level putting green, and a pre-round putting green.
Lodging: The Alsatian Inn is located approximately two miles from the club. A very nice facility, it has ninety rooms, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. Children under the age of fourteen stay free.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown on Highway
90 West to Castroville. But worth the trip.... Take Highway 90 West through Castroville; turn right at the blinking light just past the Alsatian Inn; veer left on CR 4516. Course is 2.5 miles down on the right.

Greens
Most of the greens are aerated with the hole still left in them but they rolled really well overall I would give them above four stars as far as the greens go.
Rough Greens
The greens were rough because of the recent aeriation which was understandable. Otherwise the course was outstanding! Plus...the restaurant is Top Notch!! Best burger and fries Ive ever had...and Ive had a lot being 63 years young!
Great day
They Aerated and sanded the greens which made putting a challenge; however, this inconvenience will not last and then the greens will be nice!
Yes the necessary EVIL of punching the greens. Thank you for your understanding. It will be back to normal in a few days. Please come back.
Long, short course
The yardage may read low but the course plays long with well placed obstacles. It seemed as if every tee had something right in my landing area. You need to be very precise off the tee on most holes and hit your spots. Very challenging I enjoyed it very much, I will be back.
five some holding people up
I enjoyed the course. The first 8 holes the pace of play was great. From then on a five some was holding up the foursome in front of me, causing to have to wait on every shot. No one had the courtesy to let me play though and the marshal never told them to speed up. Come to find out the marshal was friends with the five some and did not care what they did.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!

Would like to see at minimum Coffee and Breakfast Tacos available for purchase in the AM...

Course was very firm.
Played front 9 quickly but got behind 2 5somes that were sent out in front of us on the back 9.

Good staff. So so course
The people are nice but the course is so so. There is no rough, the greens can be spotty and the Marshalls mean. But hey it’s a cheap public course so you can’t expect much

The greens are fabulous
The greens are fabulous and the course itself is in good shape!9 The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.. I always have a good time at Alsatian
Nice course for casual golf
Course was in good condition. Most greens in excellent condition; just a couple that are still getting back in shape. Long hitters can overpower the course but very nice length and set-up for mid to high handicap players.

Only getting better
I played this course 5 years ago and it was definitely a cow pasture course. Since new management and the redevelopment and restructuring of the course now definitely has shown a tremendous challenge they faced. I truly loved this course and my expectations were overwhelmed by the change. The course was not perfect by far but playing here showed me this course is headed to be one of South Texas premier golf courses. This course will only get better and better. I can’t wait to come back in late Summer to plush greens and soft green fairways that will astonish me even more. Thanks for the hard effort. It’s gonna payoff sooner than later.

Chef James is an amazing chef, his menu is wonderful! The burger is a 8 ounce aged, Angus burger, with very little fat. The fries are fresh cut and made when ordered! Please come back!!!
