About
Alsatian GC is an 18-hole with water in play. Front side fairly open and flat, almost links type play. Hole 2 surrounded by waterways and bunkers. Back side is hilly and has lots of trees. Super finishing hole with a tree in center of uphill fairway.
Throughout the course you will find challenging and beautiful fairways lined with trees and Spanish Dagger. The course also offers distance wedge game range, practice bunkers, three-level putting green, and a pre-round putting green.
Lodging: The Alsatian Inn is located approximately two miles from the club. A very nice facility, it has ninety rooms, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. Children under the age of fourteen stay free.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown on Highway
90 West to Castroville. But worth the trip.... Take Highway 90 West through Castroville; turn right at the blinking light just past the Alsatian Inn; veer left on CR 4516. Course is 2.5 miles down on the right.

While most of the course was in good shape, the greens on the front nine needed a lot of work. They were very bumby and pot marked.

Good value always
Staff and management are great and they keep a close watch on everything. The fairway grass is growing in nicely now. Greens are almost always in excellent shape and run fast.
There is always a starter present and slow play has never been an issue the many times I have played there. As a bonus the course is near scenic and historic Castroville and the on site restaurant Julianna's is very good.
They are currently rebuilding some tee boxes and I have heard that the awkward second hole will be redone.

Course greening up after tough stretch of hard winter weather.
Green speeds are finally perfect. Were way too fast last time I played here. They are fun to play now.

Course is in pretty good condition. Bathroom on front side pretty dirty.
Thank you for the review. I am disappointed you found the bathroom on hole #6 dirty. We usually get great comments on our restrooms. In fact, they are sprayed out with clorox and all toilets and urinals cleaned daily. We take great pride in our restrooms and want them to always be cleaned. This will be addressed.
Great course for the money
Great course for the money! It’s just an awesome course except for a few dry spots on the fairways it was great
Woulx not let us have another player.
Your lady at the registration would told her we could not have another player because 2other players were assigned to play with us. Yet when we arrived to play we did not any other players assigned to play with us and they did not allow 5 per round. Yet I saw 3 carts with 5 players on a par 3.
I felt we were single out.

Bad weather
I had reservations through golf now but I only played the front because of the weather! The course was good after all of this crazy storm we had and the staff is just super!
One of the best in San Antonio
We really enjoyed this course every time we played, and course staffs are very friendly and always kind. The course lay out is challenged for mid-handicap golfers. Also Julianna's foods are so good especially 7oz Black Angus burger is so delicious!!!
I had reservation on 22 Feb 2021 and drove to the GC but couldn't played due to closed course. Alsatian GC tole me course was cancelled and had been notified to the GOLFNOW but GOLFNOW had not notified me and not returned my fee. Please check and let me know.
This is really BAD customer support. I need my money back.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. Our goal is to keep the pace of play running smoothly and to never have it too backed up. As far as the raincheck goes, sounds like you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow. When this is the case, no money is paid to the pro-shop so there is no money that is owed back from the course. You may have booked other course times through GolfNow and that is why you were able to obtain a raincheck. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future.
