Heather Ridge Golf Course
About
The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

Is a bullet proof vest really necessary for the security guard?
Fun, short old-fashioned course. Not the place for blasting your driver all day. The course was in far better shape than it was for my visit two weeks prior. Greens were rolling pretty smooth and at a reasonable, but not fast pace. I like that they have made the COVID-adjustment of allowing the ball to drop slightly into the cup as opposed to raised cups like some courses have done.
Very easy to walk. Many holes allow you to leave your bag half way up the fairway and carry only a putter, wedge and teeing club with you.
Pace of play was great except for four geezers that were too cool to allow a twosome to make use of the three open holes in front of them. We asked the marshall to help and he wasn't interested in being involved. I also saw someone labeled "Security" wearing what appeared to be a bullet proof vest cruising around the course. I have no clue what he was securing. The condos around the course had friendly people on the porch - no one was bothering any golfers except for the wannabe officer Farva.
Hi Dingerm. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Heather Ridge Golf Course.
Great value!
I’ve been playing here for six years and they have done a great job in maintaining the conditions at this course. This course isn't very long but that doesn’t take away from the fun. They are creative with hole positions to add some difficulty but the real challenge is the narrow fairways that are sandwiched by condos. It’s common to hit your ball into someone’s back patio, roof or parking lot. The pro shop staff is friendly, the food service can use a facelift and some upgrades but they have everything you need, nothing fancy. The low prices attract all crowds and skill level and make this the “People’s” course. It’s a no frills type of course that’s kept in great shape.
Covid19
I have a feeling this course might be great if they were able to operate at 100%. I was surprised that there were no ball washing at the holes. I wasn’t sure where hole 2 was it wasn’t marked. I will give this another shot down the road once this pandemic is past us a little.

Nice day for golf
A beautiful 75 degree day and the course was in good shape. The pace of play was very slow due to a group a couple ahead of us. They were constantly more than a hole behind. The marshall told us a couple of times that he would speed them up as he noticed they had fallen behind, but he never did anything. At least it was a beautiful day. Also, they charged an extra $20 for the cart which made the cost of the round very high for this course as I have played it many times over the years.

Solid Round for Money
I have played before and this is a great course for the price and difficulty. Not a long golf course but definitely some challenging holes that make it a little harder than your ' run of the mill' municipal course. The greens also add another little challenge. Pace of play can sometimes be slower but today it was fine. I have never had a problem with the staff and service is reasonable. Lastly, they used a foam pad to keep the balls propped up. It was nice to hole putts Vs hitting the cup. Hopefully, other courses catch on.

Best bang for the buck in town!
I love this old golf course. Not the prettiest in the world, but lots of fun and very affordable. Back tees can make this challenging for even some experienced golfers, and middle tees are great for an easy round on this condo-lined course. Leave your driver in the bag if you aren’t confident keeping it straight! Staff is super friendly. Bar upstairs is open late every night of the week all year long. Best value golf in the Denver metro!
chrisbortiz, thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Heather Ridge Golf Course.
Don't let the length fool you!
This facility has an awesome staff excellent layout for players of any level. I played several times a year and I'm never disappointed with the challenge this course offerings. My favorite hole is the par5 7th, which at times each my lunch and then other times leave me with great opportunities,
Equally important is the friendly staff here, and a fairly well kept course year round. If you have never played here, do not pass up this Hidden Gem.

Awesome staff
This golf course is a hidden gem in southeast aurora. I have played here weekly due to the great staff and golf condition. It's pretty well kept even in winter. It's challenging due to the surrounding homes, must be able to hit it straight in order to score well. It's a par 70 course.
Thank you for taking the time to review us phumanbad. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Heather Ridge Golf Course thanks you!
Decent course among houses with some tricky elements
Played for $30 on Golfnow with a cart, so it was a good value. The course is very tightly woven among a housing development. Some of the holes are pretty tight, and it would definitely be a little easier the second time, knowing where the best positions are. Main defense is the greens, which are fast and very undulating.
Not as good as some of the municipal courses, in that the golfers seem to be a little less courteous. Many bunkers weren't raked, ball marks not repaired, etc. Driving range is tight and you hit off of mats. No bunker/chipping area.
Pace of play was about 4:45. There was a marshall but he didn't seem to be able to do anything to speed things up. They claim a goal of a 4 hour round but that didn't happen.
Nonetheless, worth playing if you get a deal.
