About
The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

The range is not open, but pub and grill are
The range is not open which makes no sense given other course have had ranges open for weeks. But they have the pub and grill open. No water for drinking on the course, and given the hot dry weather the course is in good shape.
No pull carts to rent either. Very walkable course.
Not sure I will play again, weaves through condos and apartments that encroach on course at times.

Major Improvements toThis Course
We golfed here several years ago. We were not impressed. I do not remember much now, but I knew I did not want to go back. What I did remember was that there were some people on the 3rd whole who should nit have been there. I am thinking they have redeveloped the area. It was in great condition and very pleasant. We will return.

Tee time
Tee time online booked 6.09 am but not go until 6.27 am. Not like waiting over 30 minutes. Why I not just go myself?

It was a good experience.
The course was great! A lot of apartment buildings around...Had a man come out and curse at me on hole 7 because I didn't yell fore while he was INSIDE his apartment. Other than that, a fine experience.

Great value and friendly staff.
Enjoyed the day and will play again. Overall the coarse was in great shape. Glad to see sand bottles back on carts as it appears not to many hackers replace divots. Tee boxes need some attention.

Great course for the price
Shorter course then many but greens are great and very challenging fairways and tee boxes also in great shape for what was a private course gone public

Very good public course
It's been a decade since I played this course last. The red and gold tees play very short, 5159 (R) and 4373 (G). I played blue and most of the extra yardage comes on just a few holes. Blue wasn't even marked on the scorecard, I had to read the tee box markers to get the overall distance. I found out online that it plays 5876.This tight layout means fairways back to back so watch for stray balls from the adjacent fairways. No comment on the facilities as everything is basically closed due to Covid.

Underrated, fun course
For the majority of golfers--there is no reason to expect to be playing at Augusta National. And Heather Ridge is no slouch--this is a fun course for a reasonable price. The course is maintained well enough; the greens roll true (and not easy) and it's a very fair challenge.
Even in perfect weather and reasonably busy tee sheet, one buddy and I rolled around in 3 hours 45 minutes--and never felt like we were moving fast.

Rude course marshall
Ever meet a volunteer at a golf course that takes themself way too seriously? Sitting on the practice green and Marshall named Steve interacted with our party in an extremely rude and unprofessional way. Made us feel unwelcome. Not only was he belligerent but he tried really hard to escalate the situation. Unbelievable! I won’t visit this course again nor recommend it. Golf is a game for gentlemen, and that includes staff. Steve should be relieved of his duties and pay to play like the rest of us.
