Heather Ridge Golf Course
About
The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

The storm missed us but we did get a sunset rainbow. Photo submitted by Buckeye28 on 08/01/2013
This short course was in good condition
It is hard to find a shorter course that is also kept up well -- a challenge when you are trying to find a suitable place for a junior golfer. This course had excellent greens and the fairways and rough were very green and in great shape. I played with my 10 year old son and we finished in 3 1/2 hours.
Nice course - Grounds need some work
Course was in good condition but as usual for the weekends at many courses people were waiting. The greens were challenging and in excellent shape - The layout has homes on top of you so make sure you hit them straight. The cart paths need to be repaved
Very Enjoyable
First time playing Heather Ridge and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Course was in great shape from tee through greens. A "short course", but can still use driver on more than a couple holes. A very enjoyable round and I will return.
Average course
Course tight with many adjacent holes and golf balls flying close! One errant shot hit my golf cart! Grass in rough was too high. Course played slowly and course marshall was no where to be seen. Greens in very good good shape. Fairways ok. Price was appropriate for the product.
Good time
Had a great time playing the course can't wait to play it again!!
Short but Narrow
Fairways and greens were in great shape as was the cart. Cart paths were in bad repair for most of the course.
Yardage is short but this little course more than makes up for it with narrow fairways, well placed hazards and undulating, sloping greens. I've never hit so many irons from the tee before. This wasn't due to the distance as much as the need for accuracy. Plenty of trees on both sides and garden condos just barely beyond the trees. If you are easily intimidated, this course might not be for you. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of challenge, scoring a few strokes worse than my average. If you like undulating greens you will love this course.
Once I got used to the layout my game seemed to elevate a little.
The course is challenging but fun
The course itself was in great shape and for the Golfnow price, unbeatable. The clubhouse is in need of repairs as it looks unchanged since the original build.
Worth the Hot Deal
On any other given day this might have been an excellent review; however, the course was cart path only because of flooding the previous evening. This slowed the pace of play down significantly, and made the conditions worse than they most likely are on average. Overall it was a nice day.
Nice course for the money
Course was in good shape. The greens were well maintained and fast. Was in town for business and was a last minute decision to play here. Glad we did.
Challenging Course
It is nestled in a neighborhood, so there is little room off of the fairway on most holes. On several holes had to make the decision between going with a driver, or laying up safely. The greens were very difficult. Very fast overall, and several of them had multiple breaks to read.
greatand fast course for the money
Course was very well maintained. Fast paced course. Will play again and will definitely recommend!
A good test of your straight shots
Lots of water holes. They expect 4 hour round for 18 but if you have never played this course and lose balls in the water like we did several times, four hours is a very fast pace for a foursome. Also, walkers, pullers and carts on course at same time. Greens were tricky and sand was hard. Cart paths are in dire need of repair, bumpy and broken up asphalt . Houses line many of the tee boxes and fairways and are very close,so watch out if you slice or hook! But we had fun.
Heather Wedge is good for all levels of golfers...
Played with a buddy of mine who doesn't play golf too often and he wasn't intimidated due to the course being a little bit on the shorter side, especially from the white tees. Blue tees are a decent challenge for above average players, but still a pretty golfer friendly course. Pro shop and staff were very friendly and provided plenty of water and ice which more courses should take a lesson from. Overall probably an "8" for cost, time of play (3 hours - 18 holes) and overall course playability.
Heather Ridge
Tough greens, beautiful open fairways. I will definetly be back
Economical but enjoyable
We played on a hot afternoon that was interrupted by showers later. The tees and fairways were is good condition but showed heavy use given this is open to the public. There is a good mix of holes with water in play on some and bunkers in the obvious spots. The carts appeared to be new but the cartpaths were in disrepair. Looks like they had some capital but not enough to cover all their needs. Good course for beginners to intermediates for sure at the right GolfNow price.
Very good nice place to play
This place is great for walking 18. It is fun with challenging holes. Ranger keeps up with pace of play.
Great quick course
I really enjoyed mt round at Heather Ridge. The course played really well and the pin placements added to the difficulty. The clubhouse seemed a little dated and had a odd odor. The clubhouse is not why I show up though.
I would recommend this course for sure!
Had a great round
I recently played Heatherridge and knowing that it used to be a country club I had a lot of fun playing
In the city course
For the value great course to quickly get to and play.
That said everyone else thinks so also so be prepared for slow round with interesting characters on the course that do not know when it is time to pick up and move on.
Short at 6110 from the blues but can be tight course in parts.
Decent course.
Very country club like course. Fun but could be a little more difficult with some hazards or something but still overall a good course to play.
