About
Formally known as Del Norde Country Club and Cielo Vista Golf Course, this basic, flat course has long been known as the easiest course in El Paso. This short layout features wide-open fairways, large bent-grass greens, and minimal bunkering and water hazards. Yet there are a few spots where scores can add up, as many of the fairways dogleg, and more than a few approaches offer minimal views of the green because of the trees that have been added over the years.
In terms of notable holes, the signature is the 435-yard par 4 No. 2, tough because of its length and approach into a narrow, multi-level green. Be ready for No. 11, a 575-yard par 5 that features a long dogleg left with loads of trouble along that side. Big hitters might be able to cut the corner on this hole. No. 18 features a lake in the corner of the dogleg left that impacts both the tee shot and approach on this 380-yard hole.
Getting there : Adjacent to the El Paso Airport. From I-10 heading east, exit Hawkins and drive north. The course is on the right side of the street.

Seen better days
Usually this course is wonderful. It appears this winter hit pretty hard though. The fairways are beyond dormant and the ball will roll. The greens are okay shape. Like I said for being winter season, its pretty much what you'd expect.
Wide open fairways
Had a great time at Lone Star. I’m not a great golfer by any means so I really loved the wide open fairways. It is very forgiving and the course was in good condition. Greens were pretty consistent throughout the course.
Wet Situation
Watering the tee boxes is understandable but completely soaking them is silly. Not all holes are marked so be aware of what hole is next. A bit confusing but overall the course was in great condition and the greens rolled so true!
Great greens
Really good course for the price. Average skill level will have a great time!
Didn’t play
Didn’t get to play because the tee time was too early and the sun wasn’t out yet. Why would the site allow you to purchase a tee time that early when the sun isn’t even out yet. And the staff at the course were no help in letting me reschedule for another time. Waste of money.
A fun day
It was a fun day out with a friend. Greens were still healing from aeriation, but still running exceptionally well. Course as a whole is in really good shape for fall golf.
Great choice for area
Great course for price and the area. Only better than that is the staff who work there. Great experience with those behind the desk in the pro shop.
Unexpectedly Wonderful!
Last minute opportunity to get a quick round it. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun this course played.
The tees, fairways and greens were all in great condition. Putt read true and rolled well, even for late in the day. Several summer heat spots had died and had to be played around. The course is tight with lots of trees. Even though it is not terribly long, I was able to hit driver on several holes. Penalized for mishits. Rewarded for good shots.
I will definitely be back.
