Bright future
Before setting up the tee time, I received a warning related to the greens. They're working on the greens (all of them), so we played only temporary greens. Once they fix the greens, the golf course should be great to play, as the rest of the course is in good condition.
Not worth the money
Paid for 18 holes on the app with a tee time at 6pm. Played nine holes and they told us we couldn’t play the rest because they were closing when we were on our 10th tee box. Asked why they have a tee time time for 18 holes and couldn’t get a good response. It was only 7:15pm when they told us we couldn’t play more. Not worth the money.
Saturday morning T time
Great time to play and course was great besides the repairs on the greens...
Course
Course is in excellent condition had a great time even with the temporary greens.
Horizon golf course
Greens were in horrendous shape. Not even green, they were yellow and full of sand. Some areas had bare patches which mad putting very difficult.
3 stars is stretching it
The course itself needs another month to come into itself. The greens are shocking. They resemble yellow corrugated Berber carpet.
Pace of play was slow as well. I left after nine.
The staff here are very friendly however. I saw them out there working on the course, so likely it will make a comeback. Pro Shop staff were very cool as well! Thanks for your hospitality.
Play at the end of summer should be sweet
The worse greens in El Paso
I have been playing on Horizon golf course since 2014 and surprisingly they currently have the worse conditions greens in El Paso. Plus they didn’t have a marshal to control the pace of play. Overall still a good course, but if the administration doesn’t take care of the current issues the course will go really back in the hurry.
Great condition
Course is in great condition, but the greens need work.
Rough greens.
They should close for a little bit and pay attention to the greens, this is the worst shape I've seen these greens in. They literally spray painted the greens green, it was a joke
