Tour 18 Dallas

After hearing that the dismal conditions of Tour 18 that have existed the past few years (or more) had been greatly reversed, I scheduled a tee time after not playing the course for over three years. I will say that the course is dramatically improved and definitely playable. It is so close to returning to a really good course as it was many years ago. Apparently, though, the word still needs to get out so they get more play in order to keep some of the non golf essentials going. First, saw the cart girl on Hole 3 at 1:30 PM. She informs us that not only does she not have ice but she is done for the day because there just aren’t that many players. Mind you it was almost 100 degrees out.

Next, the few water coolers around the course had no water in them. Did I mention that it was almost 100?

Lastly, while the course is definitely getting better, general maintenance of the course and surrounding areas is lacking. Either that or the club doesn’t own a weed eater.

I will say that the Pro Shop staff and the young lady working the bar could not have been nicer.

I will definitely go back, especially if the course conditions continue to improve as it is a fun and enjoyable track. And with just a little customer focus and TLC, this could become a really great place to play.

The course was in wonderful shape compared to past years. Minor areas of sandy dead fairways but we just played those shots from grass instead. Did not see any bad bunkers but they were very very sandy so you did sink down some. Greens were rolling amazing. We were a twosome behind a foursome and we finished in almost 4 hours exactly. Staff was supper friendly, marshals were driving around often checking on pace but also just friendly to converse with while waiting, and there was a person to clean clubs as you walked to putt out on 18. Price is still very steep considering it's a gimmick public course as opposed to a higher quality course but golf is expensive in general. Would have preferred a 80 to 90 dollar price point instead of 130.

Course was great and starters are great price is stupid!

I hadn't touched this course in a few years after they lost their greens, but they are fantastic now. A couple baked spots in the fairways which you'd expect in 100+ heat, but the course is definitely on an upward trend. New sod is coming in nicely, conditions had zero effect on our play. Unfortunately a storm rolled in on 16 and we got rained out before finishing Amen Corner

First time playing this course and saw some of the negative reviews so kind of always have off. I'm more of a frugal golfer who can play any golf course at a fair price so not too picky, however finally got a great Golf pass deal to make it $55 for the round and boy did I love it. The course is an awesome shape, the neighborhood and houses around were unbelievable and it was so quiet. The staff is all young kids pretty much running it and they were very friendly. My only gripe is for such a nice course, there was no cart girl or anything for water or Gatorade throughout the whole round. They had water stations sporadically throughout the course however, most of them were empty. When we let the staff know after our round, they said that they fill them up several times a day but the construction crews in the area still all the water. I'm not an expert on how to deal with that but in the Texas heat I would definitely not accept that and figure something out. They did say that next time to just call the clubhouse and they would run some water out to us for free, but we did not know that so it definitely have done that for sure. T-boxes were in great shape, each grain was a little bit different speed which was kind of cool because it really did give you that feeling of playing all the different holes around the country but they were all in excellent shape. Overall, I would definitely recommend because it wasn't crowded at all and enjoyed it so much that even the little things that could be better weren't bad. Highly recommend you bring lots of water with you. Would definitely play again and we'll be looking for another deal, and I even birdied 18!

The course has been in rough shape over the past couple of years but they seem to be making good improvements to the greens, fairways, and bunkers.

Yep, tour 18 is back in our rotation. The Fairways are a nice lush and green that you will feel guilty for not filling your debit in after a great shot. Greens are doing great also giving a great rollout and plenty of sand in the Bunkers. The grass does looks new judging by the roots system I bet next year it will really be rocking. The GPS in the carts were very accurate and We saw the cart girl several times. Kept up the good work Tour 18 because you should be proud of this course now

What a 180 this course has made. Lots of work on the greens and bunkers. Staff was friendly as always and we really lucked out on the weather for July. When all the newly planted turf around bunkers grows in it will be plusher than ever. Great job Tour18 grounds crew.

This course is not even close to worth what it cost, everything’s dead greens don’t roll course is in terrible shape.

Tour 18 was really great! We played it for a company outing and it did not disappoint. The greens were in really great shape and it was a difficult course but not too difficult. The staff was friendly, including the marshall.

Course was a fun layout. Showed up and paid $120 or so for a round. Bunkers were all under repair and pace of play was diabolical (people right and front and behind us all day). Layout was a cool idea, wish the greens would be in better condition or on better grass. Overall glad I played as there were some fun holes but will not be going back for that price anytime soon.
