Tour 18 Dallas
About
Tour 18 Dallas is an ingenious compilation of the greatest golf holes in the nation, giving golfers the chance to play replica holes from 16 top courses. This one is tough -- not only because of the challenging and lengthy choice of holes that went into the design -- but especially because of the lightning-fast greens and challenging pin placements. While the conditions are probably accurate in terms of what the pros face each week, it can be quite humbling to shoot 15 strokes over your handicap because of 4- and 5-putts. The most recognizable holes at Tour 18 Dallas are the Augusta National Amen Corner replicas, which make up the final three-hole stretch.

Greens horrible, carts need work
I’ve been wanting to play Tour 18 for awhile but heard the greens were in bad shape. I figured what the heck and would try it because surely any place that charges $60-70/round can’t have greens that are that bad. They were absolutely awful. If there was grass, most was dirt/sand, the grass was bumpy and you didn’t get a true roll. It looked like there was some type of invasive species on the greens. Another grass or fungus, I’m not sure. Either way it was awful. I would say it cost each person in our group an average of 8 strokes per round because of how poor they were. We talked about just giving each other two putts once on the green to make it fair to everyone.
The carts also need work. We hopped on a cart and started driving to tee 1. All the sudden the cart started swerving left and right. We looked down and you could see the front wheels wobbling. We told the starter and he said a lot of the carts need work. He said instead of going to tee 2 go back and get a new one. So we went back and got a new one after number 1. We started to drive off and that’s when I realized the steering wheel was upside down and we were still swerving left and right. I didn’t want to turn back around because I didn’t want to slow play. But we definitely felt unsafe driving/riding in it. I thought we were going to hit a tree.
Now for the good. The course could be absolutely awesome!! The idea behind it is amazing. For the most part the tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. Being able to play all those famous holes is amazing. But because the greens were in such poor shape, and the carts were unsafe, I won’t be going back. I wish they would invest the money to get this course to what it should be. I told friends if I had the cash and time I’d try to buy it and get it fixed. That’s how good of a course this could be.
What Happened?
I used to absolutely enjoy playing Tour 18, however it is so rundown. The greens are in terrible shape. We invoked a no worse than 2 putt rule they were so bad. The course needs a lot of maintenance from the cart paths, greens, to the the club house. When this course was in proper condition, I had no issues paying $100 to $125 a round, however $60 was way too high for the conditions of this course. How disappointing. It was the same last year when I played, however I had expectations that it would be better. It was not. I will not be back unless I hear that it is the proper condition. Sad.
Overrated
The greens were in horrible condition!!! Otherwise the fairways were in excellent condition. Not worth the regular rate they charge.
Greens Need Work
Love the course overall. However, the greens are not in good shape.
Greens are in poor conditon
Course is in good shape but greens are in very poor condition. The thing that really bothers me about this is. I called before I made the reservations and ask about the greens and was told they were in good shape except for #6 & # 7 and they just had some dormant grass in a few spots that hadn’t filled it yet. Nearly every green had several bare spots and #13 doesn’t have hardly any grass at all on it. We drove 3 hours to play this course and if I️ had known the true conditon we would have played somewhere else. They did have new cups on all of the greens that looked nice. Will probably not be back.
Love the course not the greens
I have always loved this course and what it represents...unfortunately it has gone down hill from the days of old (15years) when everythung was lush and rolled true.
Check the green conditions before playing at any price.
enjoyed
Always enjoy Tour 18 and have now pretty much accepted that the greens are always going to stink though for the life of me I don't know why. Views are awesome and Tee boxes/fairways in great shape. Some of the bunkers should have grass grown in them.
Shame
It is a shame had this ONCE great course has gone down hill. Greens are TERRIBLE . Most bunkers are unplayable your better off playing a $5 Muni.
Better options out there...
The greens are STILL terrible even though they finally have somewhat of a practice green. Some bunkers look like they were abandoned from the daily maintenance months ago. We will not be going back, there are better options out there...
Course Condition...so awful
I’m really sad that this place wasn’t in good shape. I’ve always loved the whole idea and the fact that course condition is what’s holding this back is just a plain shame.
Hopefully some improvements can be made and the glory can be revived.
Tour 18 Turndown
Paid $59.99 + tax to play on terrible greens. They should throw in a sandwich to ease the pain. Very disappointed. First hole of Amen Corner didn’t even have Patrick Reed’s score up on the board by the green. Guess they don’t care?
Course is not maintained
This is the second time in 2 years I've tried playing this course. The last year not only were the greens in awful condition the bunkers barely had sand in them. This last time the greens weren't much better than the last time and the entire course just didn't appear to be taken care of. Not going to play this place again
Fun course, Awful greens
I enjoy playing this course every once in a while but this is the worst shape I’ve seen the course in. The greens were just awful. I’d give them a 1/10.
Fairways were in nice shape.
Fix the greens and give us a warning.
I even called to make sure they were in good shape and I was lied to. I was told only a couple of the greens weren’t that nice. No... They were all in terrible condition.
Horrible greens
This is the second time in a year I played there...I thought no way could the conditions be as bad as last year....I was wrong. Fairways laid pretty good but the greens we’re terrible and some bunkers had not been attended to this year. I’ve played there probably 10 times over the years and it has gone down hill since the first time....what a shame with all those great houses out there!
Don’t Play
The greens are terrible, have been this way for at least 2 years. We paid $65 with taxes not worth it.
Greens are dead
Played this course years ago and thought it was fun. It looks like it is bankrupt. Not sure why but club house looked bad, greens were dead, and traps unkept. Beautiful homes surrounding the course and hopefully some one will put some money into upkeep. Like the course, just surprised by the condition. Great price though.
Good value for the money
While the greens were little rough as reported in other reviews the overall value for this course at 26 bucks for the round was excellent. It's a unique course reminding me of the privilege I have had in the past in playing a number of these landmark courses in other locations throughout the world. The pace of play was excellent and very leisurely with really nobody pushing us from behind. For whatever reason the putting greens have not been well maintained probably need to be replaced as they are bumpy and rough but we were not playing competitive golf so they were okay.
Greens need work.
Greens a little bumpy and still have some of the poanna grass from winter. Fairways are flush!
