Bridlewood Golf Club
About
Designed by D.A. Weibring, Bridlewood Golf Course features a spectacular combination of links-style and traditional features as it snakes its way through the flat farmlands and terrain that seem to be specifically created for golf.
The front nine isn’t as rugged as the back, and its first few holes feel more residential than the rest of the course. Two holes stand out. No. 8 is all carry over water at 195 yards, followed by the monster -- a par 4 that demands one heck of a tee shot to avoid the water left and out-of-bounds right in finding the skinny fairway. Next comes a long, long approach that will have you begging for a bogey.

Greens
The greens are the slowest I have ever seen here. Dead patches all over. They are the worst I have ever seen them in 10+ years playing here. Not sure what happened. Fairways are in good condition. Hopefully they can get the greens back soon.
Horrible Shape - do they even care?
I usually like this course. It was in such bad shape that I left after nine holes with a decent round going. Greens are unputtable, bare in spots and covered with sand. It’s like that are taking no affirmative steps to get the course in shape. Fairways are rock hard even after tons of rain in last two weeks. Layout is decent and people are friendly, but this track need management to get a greenskeeper and crew on staff that knows how to manage a course and bring it back from winters in Texas.
Unexpected surprise
Drove past this course on the way to Tour 18 and decided to play it after for a 36 hole day, What a pleasure and challenging course compared to Tour 18. Staff from pro shop to the bar were friendly, course was in great shape even with all the rain. Hope to get back to Dallas and play here again. I would highly recommend Bridlewood GC.
Good overall value
Definitely one of the better courses in the area. Appears well maintained. Only complaint is some slow pace of play - although we were in no rush - round was 430-445 hrs. Saw a marshall 1-2 x during the round but no comment made to my party to speed up play.. we couldn't because we were always waiting on the foursome in front of us.
Slowest round ever
We were told 2 marshals were on the course keeping play moving. Not only did we never see them but it took 2 1/2 hours to play the front nine. Back nine was even worse, we left with several holes yet to play.
Beautiful Day
The fairways and greens were in really good shape considering it is late November. Had a wonderful time
Worth adding to your DFW list of golf courses
Was a fun round even though it was very windy. The course plays fair and tests your driving and approach skills. Greens run true and bunkers are good. The folks I played with told me that the new ownership is investing in the place so i expect it to get better.
Fine course, bad etiquette
Very disappointing. Maybe it is cultural, but I disagree wholeheartedly with their manner of sending off groups. We had a 2:00 tee time. In front of us were several groups of twosomes, with a single behind us and another twosome behind him. Several times there were three groups waiting on a tee for what ended up as a 4:10 hour round. Not bad overall but the rhythm and pace of play was awful. I asked the guy behind us to to join us three times, but he rejected the offer. The course should manage this problem.
Home Course
Love playing the course. It is in prime condition right now. Greens are rolling nice and weather is perfect. Like the new (lower) rates and the inclusion of lunch/beer!
Must play in DFW
You have got to play this course. I got it for 25.00 hot deal on golfnow. I would easily pay double that to play this course. The greens are like table tops. The Marshall was on his job just had a group of slow and bad players in front of us. Drove an hour to get here and I will do it again.
Nice course
Finished in right at 4 hours.
Greens fast and true.
A bargain. I'll play it again.
Turtle pace of play
The course design is great, maintenance was good, and price was good. The problem that ruined the round was a 5+ hour round.
The starter/ranger made us wait 5-10 minutes to start. Then he told us to keep up pace, because its a 4 hour round--great! Problem was that delays started on the 3rd hole and rangers were nowhere to be found.
Finally about halfway through a ranger came around and I let him know about the slow play. His response: "yeah, it's Friday so it's going to be a while". I said, "what happened to the 4 hr round? Can you tell them to speed up". He claimed he did. One thing is for sure, pace of play is NOT enforced. 5+ hour round ruined the day. Nothing was done to spees up play.
Value
This is an amazing golf course. The course is always in great shape and plays so well. Now to point out the problems. Number 1) Called the pro shop to see if we could add two more people to our tee time. The pro shop attendant was rude and was talking to someone else in the pro shop telling them that I didn't like that I had to play with two other people and that wasn't even the case. 2) Tee time was supposed to be at 228, sat at the 1st Tee waiting for the othe two people that we are paired up with only to find out that they went out earlier. 3) No marshals on the course at all until they very end of the round. The pace of play was so slow and was told it was going to be a 4 hour round and was a 6 hour round. When the Marshal say well its slow all around and just enjoy the round. (YEAH RIGHT!). 4) Maybe it's small but not one ball washer on the hole course. Pretty nice course not to have the amenities of a municipal course.
Great Restaurant staff
Got a special rate today but the course wasn't as difficult as I remember in years past. All the guys in the group agreed. Course was in good shape, greens were putting true, fairways were good, and rough was tough. The main reason for the review was the restaurant and the wonderful staff. The food was great but the staff was fantastic. I have never had such service in a golf restaurant. My congratulations!
