Lake Park Golf Course - Championship Course
About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Good close course that was affordable and nice
The best fairways and excellent greens. Very beginner friendly
Needs money back into the course
Relatively easy course. Miss your shot to the right or left, play out of the adjacent fairway. The course has lost many trees over the years but ARCIS does not put money back into the course (trees, level tee boxes, improved bunkers, etc.) which is disappointing for the locals.
Slow
Front nine was great, played in 1 1/2 hour but the back nine has what they call the breakfast club, no starter and no Marshal and I have seen five playing with one set of clubs before so when you get to the back nine you are stuck behind those groups for over two hours and once three and a half hours. The course and Arcis are only interest in bringing in money. the course itself is over watered and under maintained, played there for years but the breakfast club done me in, so I dropped my membership and only play once every couple of weeks now.
Fun course
Enjoy the course. Greens are in great shape. Ruts around cart paths need fill gravel or sod. I see work is going on regularly. Keep it up.
Fun Day
Compared to other nicer courses, the greens were actually in GREAT shape for this time of year with freezing conditions. Due to the freeze coming, the marshalls were around us and other groups 3-4 times during the round either telling us to speed up a touch, or telling us we were doing a great job with pace of play. As a golfer that appreciates 4 hours rounds, I loved this!!
Confidence Builder
Lake Park catches lots of criticism but I think the value is well worth it. If you’re looking for a course that’s in good condition and need a little confidence in your game, this is the course for you. With only a handful of bunkers, relatively straight holes and wide open fairways, it’s a great course for high to medium handicaps. Additionally, it’s family friendly, particularly for young golfers. The staff is always friendly and happy to see you. Enjoy and hit em straight!
Lake Park
Overall great experience, just a bit muddy after lots of rain. Hopes are a bit close too but it was a good time!
Lots of fun, simple course
We had a blast, don’t expect much from a difficulty standpoint. It was kinda like the wild west… people everywhere hitting from every fairway. Definitely a beginner type course, but with that said, it was a lot of fun to just go out there and shank balls with my son.
Thank you for your review! We hope to see you again soon!
