Turned up after 12 for a 1pm tee time... told I'd have to wait, course was busy. No problem (apparently two other people booked at 1pm same as me.) Ended up playing as a three ball (for 10 holes). I played with two lovely Swedish women. It was actually a pleasure, both drove the ball well and decent fairway shots too. Pleasant experience. Brought the best out of my game too. Two lovely women. I shot my best ever score an 86.
The course itself was average (too many holes that played the same). At least 5 holes with near exact layout. The Greens in fairness were in perfect condition... ran fast like glass. No problem with pace of play. Great deal at €23.
Of the 4 par 5's I thought only one was long enough to be considered a proper par 5. There was 4 par 3's apart from the second hole (like climbing up mount everest) the other 3 played well. Beautiful holes. Especially the 8th I think... shooting downhill, water left hand side bunkers to the right.
Average course but well maintained in fairness.
Clubhouse was small, lacked that homely feeling (like my own course back in Dublin). Staff very friendly it has to be said. Toilets looked ok. But I definitely wouldn't use the showers.
My only MAJOR ISSUE was... especially playing with two women (who were very nervous) walking up the 9th fairway (yellow practice driving range balls ALL OVER THE PLACE) as we approached the 9th fairway and green. It was very dangerous it has to be said (NO NETTING WHATSOEVER) EXTREMELY DANGEROUS). I hope management rectify this in the near future. Same issue playing the 18th UPHILL. Although I am up approximately 40 yellow balls (helped myself to the way word shots)
Overall a great day. Weather was amazing. And yes a buggy is very much needed for the majority of this course. I walked the entire course (and I'm a smoker). No major issues but next time definitely a buggy needed.
A special mention must go out to the lovely friendly lady working in the Clubhouse... Trish thank you so much for the Red Bellewstown Golf Club embroidered towel. Much appreciated
I won't be back in a hurry... I've plenty of more courses I want to play for the first time like today on my bucket list
All in all 7/10 Cheers
RENT A BUGGY FOLKS
Enjoyable.
New to golf and very challenging for my level.
Course in great condition and at €25 for 18hole round it is excellent value for money.
I will definitely be playing again.
Great value course with great views and friendly staff
Bellewstown GC represents the best value course probably in Leinster , the course enjoys exceptional views , a well designed course and friendly staff.
Only point for improvement would be the addition of more golf buggy’s as well as replacement of some older ones on site . If buggy’s are needed I would recommend that you ring ahead and book them if possible as tends to be very busy at weekends
Great course
Very challenging the front nine, up and down lies, great way to test your golf skills.
Really enjoyed it
Greens are shocking skid marks everywhere, would not recommend unless your into hiking and fancy getting destroyed in muck
Pace of play is horrible, wait 5mins each hole in back 9
A typical hill terrain, some hole with nice view, condition is good in general, green is good, but practise facility is old and broken, pitching practise area is pretty much abandoned, driving range balls are in bad conditions.
The worse part of this play experience is the pace of play, bunch of 4 balls and a family in front not willing to let 2balls play through and spend too much time looking for balls or re-play. need proper management to intervention
I see other people complain the similar, so I will not going back again.
