Broken hearted
We where so looking forward to playing Laytown Bettystown but we only played 1 hole the weather destroyed the day.It was so disappointing.
Great staff
Ended up close to Dublin on the return of my Irish golf vacation just trying to get close to the airport. We were very lucky to find this gem and the staff was excellent. Hat;'s of to Gavin and his staff. They do need to mark the Gold tee's but I made my own. Gotta make it easier for the old Americans.
Mostly member golfer but everybody we came in to contact with were very friendly to the american's
Thank you,
Bob
Very good links course
Friendly welcome from the pro and captain and people on the course. Course in very good condition. Interesting holes with a number of blind shots. Good fun.
A few hiccups
The course was in great condition but there are a couple of caveats. No play from fairways. Options are to either use a mat or play from the edge of the fairway. Also the second hole had been reduced in length to a par 3 and the 18th was closed. Hole 14a, a par 3 was in use instead. Also the clubhouse heating had failed and there was no food due to a COVID outbreak in the kitchens. Finally while I was having a cup of tea after the round either the burglar or fire alarm went off. I have never heard anything so loud in my life. You would hear it in Drogheda. Had to put my hands over my ears. It also took about 5 minutes to deactivate it. Otherwise a great days golf. Can’t wait to play it again when the whole course is open.
Excellent Golf Course
This is one of the best golf courses in Ireland and superb links experience. All facilities are excellent and staff are extremely helpful.
A great challenge for every golfer ..not a long course However very challenging
Will.play it again
Nice Course
I booked in for an early tee off, 7.50 and on arrival 10 min before this there was no one from the club about. I waiting until about 8.15 and still no one from the office or Pro Shop had arrived for work. As a result I had no score card or option to buy any drinks etc before round. Lucky I had a trolley with me as wouldn't have been able to rent one either.
(There was a grounds keeper there who was helpful as I approached the first tee explaining how they changed the layout of holes in the few months previous.)( this led to GPS devices having the holes in the old format order)
The course itself was very good, greens were good and happy with the days golfing itself. Weather was great and just makes the front 9 as you have lovely views out to sea and to the mountains.
I booked through Golf Now app and price was good for a round of golf. However booking outside of this a round of golf is around 120 euro at the week end which I personally wouldn't pay for a round here.
Due to Covid the bar restaurant etc were closed so cannot rate them.
All in all I really enjoyed it and would recommend..
Great Links Course close to Dublin
Really enjoyable links course with some really super holes that are a great challenge. Fabulous views of the beach and sea and great views of the Mourne Mountains to the north. Would be an ideal links challenge for someone who hasn't played links before and close to Dublin Airport. Highly recommended.
Lake of information
The course was in great condition. Lake of information buy pro shop. We are in summer and only found out heading for the 18th tee the course layout was winter layout. Enjoyed the first 5 holes then we got lost as no one told us about the winter layout. Not knowing where to go. Such a pity as course was in excellent condition.
Good Links but overpriced
The course is very well laid out and in great condition with some gorgeous holes. The staff in the Pro shop were very helpful. One negative however is the average price of a tee time which cab be upwards of €120
Hot deal (€35) was good price,
I'd struggle to pay a higher green fee,
very nice links golf course, suitable for double digit handicap golfers
Greens along sea front best holes. (I.M.O)
I'll be back again... good finishing holes.
Club house nice,
menu good
Good course, but need a course guide
I had a very enjoyable day. The greeting by Scott the Pro was great. He was very warm and a terrific embassador for the club. The course was playing nice. On mats or moving into the rough. But was a nice day for golf so little to be complaining about.
