Fun course
Cool layout, well kept. Let’s you hit every club in the bag, but rewards smart play :)
Good Place to Play if you get a Deal
Foxwood has matured over the years. It has been many years since playing Foxwood layout is nice. But rough was long. Probably from the rain we have had. The course was in decent shape but I wouldn’t pay full price. I was able to get a hot deal with a cart which made it a good deal.
Clubhouse is not inviting to stay and have a pint or two. It is run down and the locker rooms were importable to say the least. Ownership should be embarrassed with the locker room condition. It should have been closed.
Overall I would play here again only if I can get it for less than $30.
Super fast round
Two of us played at noon. We were able to play at our own pace Andy managed a full round in just over 2.5 hours! The course was in great shape, especially considering how it hasn’t rained much. Greens were soft for landing but true for putting. A great day, overall. And the staff were friendly and good for a chuckle or two. Would do again.
This course has great greens and some interesting holes.
Our visit was great from start to finish. Welcoming staff, able to start early but not rushed. It was great to play a morning round and be finished in a very acceptable time.
Course played well
Course was a bit soggy after some rain. Carts were unavailable so we ended up waking. The course and greens played well and the pace of play was moving nicely. The range and patio had a bit of an upgrade too. Always enjoy playing here.
Not what is once was
Pouring rain yesterday and wouldn’t give a rain check for 9 holes. Told me “ you already got a deal”. Paid $45 for 18 and played 9.... 2 stars isnt for that though. 4 of the 9 Greens were garbage to putt on. Debris all over them. Tee blocks were basically dirt. Traps filled with dirt and rocks. Perfect farming material if you wanted to plant a garden though. I doubt I’ll go back because of the rain check issue. Some upkeep would have been nice on the place. Used to love Foxwood a couple years ago. They’ve definitely let it go.
Over booked
Course was over booked
3 slow groups were ahead of us for the hole time
Bad starters
Never go back again
What's eating you?
Played the Red and Blue courses on a cool, breezy and on occasion, wet day. Course is in decent condition and the greens were running fairly quick. But what's with the torn up sod on a number of the fairways. Either spray the grubs or start trapping the racoons and skunks. They're making a real mess of what it otherwise a really nice course.
Course was in great shape
The fairways and greens were in great shape and the course wasn’t stacked up due to there being 27 holes. 3 of us did the course in just over 4 hours. Only issue was there was no beer cart and we finished just before 2. We didn’t stop in between to grab a sandwich fully expecting the beer cart to be around.
Refreshingly challenging course, extremely friendly staff
The course by itself is quite refreshingly challenging for an intermediate golfer, with a variety of hole layouts and beautiful scenery. The afternoon was surprisingly not busy at all, which allowed our foursome to keep our moderate-slow pace of play. The course staff were some of the most friendliest and accommodating staff that I've had the pleasure of talking to, and will definitely look to return in the near future. They even offered me a coupon for my next visit!
I expected something better
The course is a 27-hole course. it took me sometime to get used to the instruction to the tee boxes. The design is a little clumsy: some tee boxes are right behind the greens of last holes, not quite safe.
The stuff was very friendly and helpful. However the course itself is not much better than any municipal golf courses. The green was soft even in the afternoon. For the price I paid, I would hope it could be better.
Good Course Layout and Challenging
Course played very well and conditions were very good. Fast and challenging greens as well as variety of designs for each 9.
